Luxe Outdoor Garden Wedding in California

Today we are sharing Ashley and Kevin’s nuptials from June 25th 2016. This lovely couple held their Californian ceremony under beautiful sky-high trees and an exquisitely decorated wooden arch adorned with striking red, maroon and cream roses and hot pink amaranth. As you will see, this was one swoon-worthy day from start to finish.

Ashley positively glowed in her lace v-neck gown and maroon and red rose floral crown. Kevin wore a black suit, a white bowtie and a red rose buttonhole and looked every bit the dapper groom. Their outdoor reception glistened with hanging fairy lights and the tables looked both elegant and funky, thanks to floral centrepieces and gold glitter table numbers. The newlyweds and their guests feasted on gourmet PIZZA (I think that deserves capitals because it’s that awesome) and oodles of enticing treats like cupcakes, biscuits and tarts. My favourite pictures are of the bride and groom laughing, dancing and holding each other close in front of their adoring friends and family.

FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER | From the dark red floral accents to the delicious treats from Urban Pie LA, this event fulfilled our backyard, vintage wedding day dreams! Kevin and Ashley are an amazing couple and we feel so blessed to call them family and to have been there for their wedding. When we asked them what they were most looking forward to during their wedding day, they answered “Family, dancing, and pizza!!” It has been incredible to watch Kevin and Ashley’s love grow over the years and seeing them say “I do” in front of their family and friends was magical. Our newlyweds met while visiting friends in New York. “Kevin’s friend James was roommates with my friend Katie, so we ended up hanging out. Kevin had me laughing non-stop and that was it!!” Their engagement came five and a half years later on a perfectly normal Thursday evening. Ashley answered yes only after confirming “a billion times” if he was serious and thus, we arrive at this beautiful moment in Orange, California. To truly understand how amazing this couple is, you need to hear their answers to these questions… What do you like most about each other? “We understand and appreciate each others’ weird.” What are your favourite things to do with each other? “Eat pizza in our underwear.” A couple that knows how to have fun and appreciate the weird in a relationship is headed down an amazing path and we can’t wait to see Kevin and Ashley grow as they move into a new life as man and wife.
