The Bride Diaries. Ashley's Engagement Shoot

We are now approaching our six months to go date! Which is so exciting, and things are definitely feeling more real now. Back in February we had some belated engagement photos taken with our wedding photographer, Ben of Ben Goode Photography, about a year after we got engaged. We weren’t originally going to have engagement photos taken, but actually I was feeling really anxious about being photographed on the wedding day, so we thought this would be a great way of getting to know our photographer and helping me to relax (plus our wedding photographer happened to have an offer running on engagement photos – bonus!).

I would thoroughly recommend an engagement shoot to anyone! It was so lovely to have some time with our photographer before the big day so that we could get used to working with him. Ben was so lovely and although both Will and I felt really awkward to begin with, Ben was very quick to make us feel at ease and we soon relaxed in front of the camera.

We were so lucky to have such a beautiful day, it really did feel like the first sign of Spring, although this also meant that the beach was super busy and we spent a lot of time trying to avoid having other people in the shot. Needless to say, we are in love with the result. The pictures really are so special and we feel that they really capture our personality. I am just even more excited now for the wedding, and we both feel a lot more relaxed knowing what to expect when being photographed.

Time really is going by so quickly the closer we get to the wedding. We are hoping to go suit shopping soon, and then our next job will be finding ties for the boys to match!
