Your wedding day is inevitably one of the most planned, thought out and organised days of your life – there’s barely a minute that goes by unaccounted for. With that in mind, I’m sure you will echo my deep respect for Katie and Robert who had a day’s notice to re-jig their wedding day in October last year due to Hurricane Matthew throwing them slightly off course! Undeterred, this lovely couple re-grouped and pulled off one gorgeous beach celebration with their nearest and dearest – and what a setting to declare your love for one another!
I absolutely adore how Katie has brought true princess glamour to the beach with that incredible gown, fabulous killer heels, glittering accessories and a flowing veil to billow in the sea-breeze. The nods to their nautical setting are ever-so charming and those candy-floss blush bridesmaids’ dresses and aisle accessories are just scrumptious. These gorgeous images captured by Kristen Booth really showcase that stunning vista and the perfect sunset this lovely couple sailed away into. So dreamy.

FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER | A love so strong, not even Hurricane Matthew could get in the way of it…
Katie and Robert were set to tie the knot on October 5th, in the Bahamas.
As the cruise dates neared, we heard more and more of a menacing storm that was rocking the Caribbean. What would this mean? Having the wedding indoors instead of outside?
I don’t think any of us expected it to turn into category 5 hurricane and completely reroute the cruise. So the Bahamas was out of the question and instead, we were heading to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico. I’ve gotta say, Katie and Robert win the award for chillest couple of the year. They received this news one day before boarding the cruise and they dove right into re-planning their wedding in one day.
And you know what? Everything played out flawlessly. We all agreed that not even the original plan could have compared to how wonderfully it all turned out.
Best wishes to these two beautiful souls and their marriage! May they conquer all of the storms in their lifetime the same way they did Hurricane Matthew 😉
