Like a breath of fresh air, these images hit my inbox and I was excited! For these wedding ideas were something fresh, modern, minimal and new. We’ve seen and featured a lot of wedding editorials here at Whimsical Wonderland Weddings over the past 8 years, but there is nothing better than seeing new concepts come to life.
For couples with edge, style and personality, here is a concept to take hold of and run with. Let your personality shine on your wedding day with minimalist style decoration and chic elements. Think wicker props, house plants, delicate stationery and muted tones. I really love the tropical feel to the foliage arrangements which were interspersed with orchids, especially in the fun backdrop to the bride above. Modern and sleek bridalwear looked beautiful, alongside trendy hair and make up looks. Keep your eyes peeled for subtle print in the textiles, a show stopper cake and quirky lampshades too.
Huge thanks goes to Rachel Lou Photography for sharing these inspirational and beautiful shots with us.

I had a look in mind as soon as I visited this fabulous new wedding venue. The minimal, industrial look to the barn set my creative juices flowing. I pictured a Scandinavian feel to the set up, with lots of greenery. Keeping it simple yet modern and on trend. They also have a fabulous outdoor ‘glen’ area which we used in this shoot, providing another backdrop to photograph our Bride against.
After speaking with Lou at Beyond Vintage, she was able to pull together the look perfectly. We went for two looks, both in keeping with the styling.
Modern and minimal, drawing on current interior trends – foliage, foliage and more foliage! Wicker baskets, mid century inspired furniture and props.

Mixture of watercolour and texture with clean lines and natural elements. Typography simple and clean.

Natural textures, mid century furniture, house plants, wicker baskets.

Relaxed, laid back wedding with attention to clean lines and minimal styling. Our Bride isn’t too hung up on what she looks like but she likes to keep things clean and simple. She’s a lover of interiors and Scandinavian design.

Simple, structured with clean lines (one of them even had pockets!)

She went for the barn thanks to it’s industrial look and it’s white clean space. Less is more, key pieces and structure tells the story of their wedding day over fluff and fancy.

Greenery and house plants, wicker basket details with succulents. Hand tied bouquet with structured texture.

Relaxed, messy plaits, smoky eyes, nude lips.

Simple, semi-naked. Also a modern take (doughnuts) on a traditional Scandinavian wedding cake.

Natural textures, linen, foliage.
