I don’t think we’ve ever featured a clear marquee wedding reception before, but that all changes today courtesy of Lauren and John! We are featuring their very pretty summer nuptials which were held on the 3rd August 2019, with a church ceremony followed by a clear marquee wedding reception at the family farm. Oh was it just idyllic, the weather was perfect and the views just stunning. The clear marquee really made the most of the setting and come evening it looked magical lit in fairy lights, just you wait!
They had a wonderfully rustic vibe to their décor with wooden touches, chalkboard signs and flowers everywhere. The cake table in particular was really lovely, with a wooden window frame was used as a backdrop. There was also really stylish attire, reams of bunting, fete games and smiles all day long. Magical.
Sarah Brookes Photography, thank you so much for sharing with us these really beautiful images today. Enjoy.

John and I had often visited the beautiful Cotswolds and he decided we were due another visit. We went back in late October 2017 and embarked on a very steep walk (in the driving rain may I add). We had walked this route before however not in this type of weather. You can imagine how grumpy I was? John was determined to reach the top of this high walk and kept offering me snacks, you can imagine my blunt reply.
We eventually reached a familiar spot on our walk and John ask me to hold his bag whilst he dug around the bottom for his snacks (still in the sideways rain)…After a while, he handed me a postcard sized box which confused me. I opened the box where a message was staring at me, “Will you marry me?”
The rest is history!

Lauren – I found my perfect dress at Brides by Solo in Newmarket. My big sister ended up choosing the dress due to it’s elegance and fit. I tried it on and just knew it was the right dress. My mum, sister and mother in law all adored it when I tried it on. I’ll never forget that moment.
John – I knew that the theme of the wedding was farm/rustic/vintage so a few friends had recommended Vintage Suit Hire in Bedford and I was not disappointed. The style perfectly suited the day.
We always knew we wanted to get married on his parent’s farm, so that was our style from the go. Dolly’s Vintage Tea Party married in beautifully with this rustic farm style.

VERY chilled. We had 18 months to plan and we were very organised from the go, we were very lucky and already knew that we were going to book Hayley Thurston (Dolly’s Vintage) and she was fab with recommending people.
