It’s set to be a scorcher today, but we are headed back to the start of the year and a beautifully overcast cloudy day where WWW fave and Supplier Love member; the amazing Thyme Lane Photography curated and shot this incredible LGBTQ+ elopement ideas shoot.
At the heart of the editorial concept was the celebration of love and real life couple Ali and Jo were captured so beautifully, you can really feel the love. This shoot was also brought together to inspire older couples due to get hitched and is packed full of eco-friendly credentials. Let’s face it, smaller intimate weddings and elopements could become more popular in the coming weeks and months and you know what they are just as special, so romantic and can be really personalised to you as a couple.
You are going to love the stylish attire, the triangle flower arch backdrop and the boho style macramé adorned table set up. Wow! Enjoy folks.

On this shoot we just wanted to celebrate love. I also feel like that apart from LGBTQ+ there is another group that is often neglected – it’s middle age/older couples… I would like people who are not in their 20s any more to feel comfortable and confident to do what they think is right for them on their wedding day. They need to know that are still pretty and ageing is naturally beautiful.
So on this shoot it’s only two people saying their vows to each other surrounded by nature. We picked a small area for the shoot between the hills and had the cloudiest, rainiest afternoon possible…

The rich colours we used really stood out against the end-winter darkness. We concentrated on being as eco-minded as possible – the bridal dress is a real vintage 1950’s dress which was missing the original belt, we decided to use a stunning hand dyed gold bamboo ribbon. Our flowers are locally sourced, all our props were handmade or real vintage. Our stationery is fully handmade on recycled, handmade paper and no printers used, even our rings are handmade by a small local company. Our hair and makeup artists used as many vegan and natural products as possible. The wooden rings were handmade by a small company
Our main inspiration – nature – runs through every detail of the shoot, earrings are floral inspired, our cake is hand painted and again end-winter flora inspired, our stationery is illustrated with details of the scenery dry flower heads.
We used hand dyed bamboo ribbons for the flowers too which are more eco-friendly than silk.
