Goodness, what style and beauty I have to share with you. I am joined by WWW readers Laura and Armias with their New Orleans micro wedding held at Margaret Place Hotel on the 3rd March 2021. Their day was so many things; intimate, romantic and not to mention incredibly stylish. Think on-trend outfits, a gorgeous outdoor ceremony and a moody, vintage colour scheme. Wow.
There is so much to love, from the opulent flowers and candlelit tablescapes to the brass band, sparklers and smiles all day long. It really is a feast for the eyes and there is some fantastic advice in their wedding report below too.
Olivia Yuen Photo, thank you ever so much for sharing these sensational images of a very special celebration indeed.
I found the website at the beginning on wedding planning and couldn’t have been more excited! Lots of weddings featured here gave inspo, esp the blog ‘moody jewel tones and velvet wedding ideas’!
Thank you so much Laura and Armias for your positive words about WWW, it really is a pinch-me moment that you found so many ideas here, especially from all the way across the Atlantic. Hooray! ✨

9/23/2019 in Bali! We were at dinner and he disappeared to only come back with a camera person, (also choked up as he’d call it, I call it crying 😊), he forgot his speech lol, then the ring. I was definitely surprised to say the least – I said Thank You a few times lol.
He trusted my vision when our initial plans were to have it in my Dad’s warehouse…vintage, moody, burgundies, touch of industrial, chandeliers, bricks, cut glass, candles, but plans drastically changed… oh, 2020. We went from a touch of industrial to everything else!
We strived to keep it under $15k but ended up almost doubling it with last-minute changes/details.

I found Margaret Place on a late-night ‘the Knot’ search in August 2020 and got so excited – we booked it without even doing a walkthrough! I considered it a bonus when I realized who the events manager was – our soon to be coordinator, Becca! We originally met her during a tour of the initial venues we visited in 2019 – this was just fate. 😊 We hired her in December 2020 once our original planner under-delivered.
He bought his tux from The Black Tux. He knew he wanted a navy jacket. His inspo is for and always James Bond – Daniel Craig.
I went to Elizabeth Lee Bridal. I knew I wanted crepe with buttons. I started with sleeves, but the cape and veil combo was much more my style (random items that don’t usually get combined, but it works!).

Mitch’s Flowers, burgundy/blush/touch of blue/greenery/texture.
Jenny’s Cake Creations, simple with fine lines. Cake plate courtesy of Amazon 🙂
I designed most of the details, but definitely needed help with the execution – Becca is truly amazing!

Olivia Yuen – our incredible photographer!
We did record the ceremony using Event Live.

We haven’t had one yet, but we have our destination already picked – Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy! Hopefully soon.
He cried at the alter! I just, cannot. That’s bae!
Discuss and firm up the budget – leave room for growth! (Maybe not 100% growth haha)
Things will happen and things will seem like they are falling apart. Once your wedding day is here, all those experiences seem like a nit on the radar (we had quite a few…). Don’t lose focus, everything happens for a reason and it’ll just make you two stronger as a unit!
You will disagree, just disagree effectively – communication is everything! – a serious ode to LaToya!
Don’t get too much out of your comfort zone for your wedding day, your wedding is a union and celebration of who you are (i.e., don’t die your hair pink if you’ve never had pink hair before!)! I was freaking out about my nails. Trying to preplan as much as possible, I tried pastel colors because ‘everyone says wedding colors are pastels.’ Well, I couldn’t get over how much I didn’t like it and I ended up with my normal burgundy nail color the Sunday before! (see point 2! lol)
DIY is FUN, but it takes a village!! Oh boy! We were so thankful for our wonderful coordinator and her team!
