Who doesn’t love a magical medieval barn, steeped in history, character and atmosphere? Well, today’s location; Winterbourne Medieval Barn inspired The Little Wedding Helper to curate this gorgeous shoot, captured beautifully by Sam Gibson Photography.
There really isn’t much not to love, from the abundant greenery flowers with burgundy tones to the epic table plan, cute calligraphy ribbon, chic bridal style and of course the dreamy tablescapes. It’s all just so inspiring. Barn wedding of dreams here you come!

When you discover that a beautifully restored barn that was built in 1342 is only 20 minutes away from your home, I couldn’t wait to visit. It really is an incredible space that is steeped in history, lovingly restored over several decades and much loved by the local community.
The renovations have not just been on the main barn but the smaller, once dilapidated West barn into seminar rooms, a kitchen and toilets meaning that the venue could be used year round for community activities as well as weddings and events.

Walking around the beautiful barn, my mind was going into overdrive with ideas and possibilities for a styled shoot that would not only help the barn showcase themselves but also a chance to get creative with other wedding suppliers when we had all been going through such a tough time with the pandemic.
I started bringing together some ideas, reaching out to suppliers and working on a shoot to inspire future couples who might consider the barn to tie the knot in.

We had a small team on the day as we had to adhere to the Covid rules, mask on and hand gel a plenty! The design was in keeping with the look and feel of the barn, keeping details natural and colourful with a palette of greens, deep reds and pinks.
The long rustic trestle tables with crossback chairs looked right at home in the barn and I loved creating a table plan display that was full of detail and textures…a huge thanks to all the amazing wedding suppliers who helped make this shoot look so beautiful and so much fun!

Oh so cosy and romantic.
A massive thank you to the team below for sharing these sumptuous Medieval barn wedding ideas with us.
