We’re heading back to Spring for the pastel infused barn wedding of WWW readers Anna and Adam who were hitched on the 4th April 2017 at Dalduff Farm in Scotland. The couple wanted to achieve a day which had a relaxed and informal vibe. That mixed with their impeccable style and all round lovely ideas for their day and it all looked and sounded incredible. Captured beautifully by The Gibsons is every little detail and all the gorgeous moments and memories to be treasured by the couple and their loved ones for all time.
The flowers are one of the most stand out elements of their day in my opinion. Blousy pastel pinks, yellows and blues were used in the floral arrangements, featuring roses, ranunculus and peonies to name a few. Swoon! The flowers really complimented the girls’ outfits too. Anna chose an exquisite Lusan Mandongus lace gown and teamed her dress with a reverse flower crown, then her fave girls wore grey Ghost frocks. Didn’t they all look SO stunning? The boys also looked the part in their kilts and tweed ties.
Bridesmaid Debbie really went to town crafting some lovely decorations including the table runners and signage, which complimented the stag stationery and floral cake to a T. I’ll leave you to revel in these sensational shots, thanks to The Gibsons.

THE PROPOSAL | On Adam’s 30th Birthday in our flat! He decided to do it on his birthday so nobody would suspect it!
THE VISION | Relaxed and informal.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | We booked the venue as soon as we saw it, we were sold straight away! That was around 18 months before the wedding and we just chipped away at the rest over that period. I really enjoyed the whole planning process and became slightly obsessed with all things wedding related!
THE VENUE | The barn at Dalduff Farm. We loved the venue from the minute we saw it. James, Jenny and the team have created a lovely space and are willing to give couples pretty much free reign, which we found was unusual. We wanted a relaxed and informal day that all our friends and family could enjoy and by allowing us to do things our way we could ensure that. Kathryn their wedding planner was a great help in the lead up to the wedding answering all sorts of random questions. James and the team were great on the day and the day before, nothing seemed to be too much trouble!
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Lana by Lusan Mandongus from Melle Cloche. I customised the dress as I wasn’t too keen on the glitzy waistband so I took it off and the seamstress Sharon at Melle cloche made me a beautiful satin bow. I wore rose gold and ivory shoes by Rachel Simpson. My aunt had given me a pearl ring that I wore as my ‘something old’ and Adam’s mum allowed me to wear her diamond earrings as my ‘something borrowed’ My florist Lisa from Floral Menagerie made me the most beautiful reverse crown too.
FINDING THE DRESS | I went to a few shops although Melle Cloche was the first shop I went to. I tried on a couple of Lusan Mandongus dresses that I loved and eventually had to pick one! My dress was nothing like I had imagined it would be but I absolutely loved it.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Adam chose to have a new kilt made in his family tartan. He had it made at Slanj Kilts. He had bought a grey tweed kilt jacket and waist coat a few months earlier so he wore that and hired all his groomsmen one similar. He also bought his groomsmen blue harris tweed ties as a groomsmen present, which they all wore on the day. They looked very handsome!
THE READINGS & MUSIC | We had Capella string quartet playing whilst I walked down the aisle. I had chosen a double violin concerto by Bach – it’s beautiful! My aunt played Queen’s ‘Somebody to love’ on the piano whilst we signed the register and then Capella played ‘You’ve got a friend in me’ as we walked back up the aisle. We had two readings, my uncle read a Blessing in both Gaelic and English and a close family friend read ‘The One.’
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My beautiful bridesmaids wore a selection of Ghost dresses in Silverlake also from the wonderful Melle Cloche. Laura and Debbie wore the ‘Salma’, Christy and Suzie wore the ‘Claudia’ and Dawn wore the ‘Sylvia.’ They were all stunning!
THE FLOWERS | Lisa at Floral Menagie is an absolute genius. Her flowers were so stunning. We met up and discussed colour schemes and my favourite flowers and she just went with it. The result was incredible, the fresh flowers looked amazing against the rustic look of the barn. My bridal bouquet and my reverse crown were highlights of my whole look!
THE CAKE | Anna at Bakery47 made our wedding cake. She was great, we met a couple of times for coffee and cake of course! Anna gave us lots of varieties to choose from and was happy to make suggestions for adjustments. We ended up having a three tier cake of salted caramel, spiced apple and traditional fruit cake. We had a couple of extra cake tins made up of carrot cake, it’s Adam’s favourite and it was just too good!
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The wonderful Gibsons – Scott and Chantal were AMAZING from the very outset! They were so helpful and good at keeping in touch prior to the day and so enthusiastic about all our plans! They worked so well together on the day too, Scott had the morning with the boys and Chantal was with us girls. During the ceremony I didn’t even notice them yet they still managed to capture every detail, they are awesome.
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | My wonderful bridesmaid Debbie is a pro at the arts and crafts. She helped me so much, she made us table runners from hessian and lace and she made various blackboards for our whisky bar, booze bath and cocktails. We got out wedding stationery from David at Bottled Love – as soon as I saw the stag design that he did, I knew that was what I wanted to match our theme.
THE HONEYMOON | We are actually just home from honeymoon. We had a month in New Zealand and the Cook Islands. Adam is a teacher so we waited until his summer holidays to make the most of our time away. We spent three weeks travelling through New Zealand – it’s such a stunning country with so much to see and do. At the end of the three weeks of constant travel, we wanted a week of relaxation and the paradise of the Cook Island did not disappoint!
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Oh it’s so hard to pick! The moment I got to the top of the aisle and saw Adam was definitely special and emotional! Our speeches and the pizza van as the evening buffet!
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy the day and try not to get too caught up in the little details!
