Aircraft Hangar Wedding Ideas

The Prop Library specialises in wedding rentals, and couples can hire everything from table decor to vintage furniture. When The Hangar at The Barn KT9 opened its doors in 2021, I knew it was the perfect backdrop for a wedding shoot.

The aircraft hangar provides an amazing blank canvas and is something truly unique. The farm itself has been in the same family for generations and the backstory was to be one of an intimate wedding, where family and friends have gathered for an amazing celebration of love.

Sherri OMalley is a fantastic local photographer, and with her love of natural light, I knew her pictures would tell the real story of what we all wanted to create.

Holly and the Ivy, our florist, created a romantic palette of flowers that helped to bring all the other elements together. From the flower crown and bouquet through to the ceremony decor and table arrangements, the delicate flowers created the perfect contrast against the brick and metal hangar.

Real-life couple Bella & Becca were a perfect fit for this shoot. The fact they were getting married in real life, a few weeks after the shoot, somehow made it extra special.

For the dresses, With Love Mirka, has created a stunning and eco-friendly bridal collection. The chosen dresses captured the individuality of each bride, whilst also having elements of lace that were shared. A beautiful metaphor for the real couple.

Rosie Hart, our HMUA, specialises in enhancing natural beauty. Bella and Becca are both stunning, but Rosie allowed their natural glow to radiate even more brightly.

When it comes to getting to a vintage wedding, it doesn’t get much better than a classic split screen VW Campervan, and Vanilla Moon Weddings provided just that for our fabulous couple.

For the ceremony itself, Fiona, our celebrant, managed to create an intimate and personalised exchange with her beautiful handfasting ceremony.

Bittersweet Bartenders provided a fabulous pop-up bar for the happy couple, with a selection of freshly prepared cocktails to celebrate with.

The sweetheart table and guest tables were styled with The Prop Library’s hire collection. Holly finished it to perfection with a fantastic foliage aerial installation.

For calligraphy, What Sarah Inks, created the handwritten table plan and place settings, as well as the gorgeous menu cards. The delicate white ink on the kraft paper was the perfect vintage touch.

The Boho Collection with additional accents of pink and green from Harriet’s Table, was the perfect china for our tables. Set with her mismatched glassware and silver cutlery, truly elevated the tables to something special.

To complement the overall theme and decor, Laura’s Pantry, created a stunning, bespoke cake with macrame tied icing and handmade flowers and The Prop Library created a ‘Cake Table’ so it could take pride of place.

A comfortable lounge area, with vintage seating, is always a winner with guests as the day goes on and a LOVE letter backdrop provided more photo opportunities.
