Oh what a pleasure it is to be sharing The Farmhouse At Redcoats wedding in Hertfordshire of Jessica and Ted.
Jessica and Ted’s wedding is a colour-lovers dream, think all the colours of the rainbow. Part in thanks to WWW wedding supplier Fleur De Lace’s gorgeous ribbon and pom pom decor. What a feast for the eyes.
There were also colourful seasonal summer wedding flowers, the cutest pup, the most stylish of outfits and amazing cakes. What a treat it is to be sharing this full-of-love celebration at The Farmhouse At Redcoats.
I cannot thank Bubear Photography enough for sharing with us these joyful and emotive images. Wow!

After nearly 7 years of being together, Ted asked Jess’ family for one of her nan’s rings that was given to her by Jess’ grandad. And with the families permission, took the ring to Harriet Kelsall to have it redesigned into a more modern style.
On Christmas day morning 2020, Ted got down on one knee and asked Jess to marry him. They were surrounded by some of Jess’ family and it was a truly magical way to start Christmas day.
The vision for the wedding we wanted to be very ‘us’. Things that we enjoy as a couple and being surrounded by all of our friends and family.
Our venue needed to be somewhere that felt like us, which meant we could get married and have the reception on site and we could have family stay overnight. The Farmhouse at Redcoats was perfect for that, with the added bonus being that we could get married outside.
With this in mind, our vision well and truly started to grow. One of our passions or interests is live music and music festivals. With this in mind, we wanted to create our own Glastonbury-themed wedding with lots of happiness and colour!
With this in mind, we had to contact Alice at Fleur De Lace. We met with her and she got so excited about bringing our vision to life, she had so many ideas including the pom poms on sticks down the aisle and colourful ribbons on the backs of the chairs which we loved!

The venue was perfect for us as it was close to home (we wanted Ted to get ready with some of his groomsmen at our first home), it had ample accommodation for family to stay, we could get married and have the reception on site and not to mention that it is absolutely stunning!
Leading up to the day we had various meetings with the venue, we worked with Charli and she truly helped our vision come to life and ensured that the day went smoothly.

My dress was an accidental find. At the time, my mum and my nan lived in the Lake District. We knew that Nan was unable to attend our wedding due to medical reasons and we wanted her to see me in a wedding dress so we found @edenweddingboutique close by and we booked an appointment.
Keeley, the shop owner told me when I booked the appointment that it would be the first and last shop I would need to book an appointment at… She was right! Being the second dress that I tried on in the store and the only one that I had chosen for myself (my mum and sister chose the rest that I tried on) I fell in love with Zazzie by @wtoowatters it had everything that I had dreamed of and more.
A whole layer of glitter tulle, a small train, intricate detail and I felt like a true princess.
Ted’s suit came from a local shop in Hitchin, @hrhholmesmenswear. This was our first stop when looking for suits as we wanted to shop local and independent. When we went in, Ted expressed that he didn’t want something plain, this is when we were shown the suit that Ted and the Groomsmen wore.
Navy blue suit with an orange thread going through it with a bright orange lining, it was perfect. All of the groomsmen were thrilled with how they looked and look forward to wearing their suits to events in the future.
Our ceremony was held at The Farmhouse at Redcoats, outside, underneath their Grade II listed grain store. We were lucky enough to have a long-term family friend marry us as she is a registrar which made it all the more special.
We wanted to kick off the day with live music from the start and had Cascada Strings play modern covers for us. I walked down the aisle to Sweet Child of Mine by Guns N Roses which Ted thought was epic!
Our music for the evening was also very important, for us it had to be a band. We chose The Indianas Band as they were a 4 piece band where the keyboard player would switch to a saxophone for some sounds which we thought added the extra element that we were looking for.

We honestly had THE BEST team capturing our day for us. Adam from Creative Sparks Films and Kirsty from Bubear Photography lead the day with their wonderful second shooters Kian and Kayley.
They made the best team, made us feel so comfortable and we had the best day with them.
We enlisted the help of Alice from Fleur de Lace for most of our decor. This included the pom poms on sticks down the aisle and the 400 ribbons tied to the backs of the chairs.
For our cake, we had a small cutting cake and lots of cupcakes, blondes and brownies made by Iced Delights Cakes which tasted AMAZING!
Our flowers were created by the immensely talented Julia from What the Fleur. My matron of honour used her in 2019 for her wedding and ever since that day, I knew I needed to use her for our big day, whenever that may have happened. She well and truly knocked it out of the park!
A fair bit of the decor was DIY as we wanted it to be personal, this was done by my Step-Mum Nicky who is a whizz with her Cricut machine. Any idea I thought of or saw, she was able to bring it to life.

It had to be a cruise! We knew we wanted it to be luxurious, hot and sunny with amazing food. We chose a 10-night Greek Island cruise with Celebrity X Cruises starting with 2 nights in Venice.
It was wonderful! The perfect amount of time for us to process our amazing day and spend some quality time together.
Some of our favourite moments of the day were when we would just take a step back and take it all in. Those moments where we would check in with each other were lovely.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Choose suppliers you love. Soak up every second.
Also, create a separate wedding email address so that important emails don’t get lost!

Ahhh so gorgeous!
Jessica and Ted, thank you both ever so much for sharing your Farmhouse At Redcoats wedding story with us.
