Come with me as I whisk you away to a beautiful rustic barn wedding in Poland. That’s right, Dominika and Romulo are joining us to share all about their magical destination wedding held at Stodola Czeresniowy Sad, Poland.
Their day was so elegant, with the most stylish outfits (hello bridal gloves!), stunning pastel flowers cascading over the reception tables and gorgeous summer sunlight. They had some really lovely moments too from the confetti throw to their first look, meaningful ceremony and champagne tower. There was fun, smiles and love all round. Yay!
Thanks ever so much to Matt + Lena Photography for sharing with us their incredible captures of Dominika and Romulo’s incredible day.

It happened on the top of Ryan Mountain in Joshua Tree. We were in the Thousand Palms area for the Coachella Festival. As we were going up Ryan Mountain following the trail the sun was starting to set midway through. I really wanted to see the view from the peak. We made it just in time.
Romulo got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was shocked because although we spoke about marriage we were focusing on getting a house at the time so that was our main priority. Although unexpected, I was so, so happy and excited to add this to the next chapter in our lives. Romulo was thrilled and we had the most perfect evening and sunset to watch.
As we started descending down the mountain it started to get dark but thankfully we had our flashlights. It was an easy way down especially because we were running on so many happy emotions!

I always wanted to get married in a rustic barn. At first, we wanted to get married here in the US. But I realised what I would be missing which is most important (most of my family). I really wanted my family from Poland to be there – more than anyone else and their flight tickets would also be incredibly expensive for them.
On the other hand, Romulo was extremely open to any scenario, anywhere, as long as we got married. He wanted only the closest family members by his side so this made it a lot more feasible. Everything became very clear – we would have the wedding in a rustic barn in Poland surrounded by our closest family and friends.

We loved everything about our venue. The details of the barn, the grounds, the big wide barn doors creating an open space from the barn to the outdoors – to dance and roam around, the outdoor dance floor, and the fact that there were overnight rooms for our guests on-site – steps away from the barn.

My dress was from Bouji Bridal in New Jersey. It was a design done by their in-house designer. I loved it as soon as I put my eyes on it and when I tried it on it looked even better.
I knew I was looking for a lace, mermaid-style dress with a train and somewhere in the process I realised I really wanted something with a floral pattern. I love anything with a nice floral pattern.
The veil is by Pronovias and I found it online. I knew I wanted a long cathedral veil with thick lace on the edges. After some looking I found the right one. I also loved the look of a simple drop veil which covers your face. I bought an inexpensive one online and decided to use that one for the ceremony.
Afterwards, I changed into the lace cathedral one for photos. To complete the look I bought my elbow-length white tulle gloves and jewellery from Etsy.

Seeing Romulo waiting for me at the end of the aisle will always be an unforgettable feeling for me – surrounded by family smiling and being there for us. I loved that my mom was a part of the ceremony – she stood next to the officiant and translated everything in English.
We had The Folk Band Show playing throughout the day, an amazing quartet of musicians that played beautifully at the ceremony and kept our guests dancing all night.

Our photographers and videographer were the best! They were so pleasant to be around, kept the mood light, and made us feel comfortable while staying professional and capturing unforgettable memories of the night. Video Link.

We extended our stay in Poland and traveled to the Tatra mountains in Zakopane. It’s typically a winter destination because of the great skiing, but in the summer there is so much beautiful landscape to explore and hikes to go on 🙂

Colourful pastel floral decoration and lots of rustic decor to add to the barn. Most was done by a decorator we chose but I did DIY a few things.
I had pine cones to put our guests’ personalised name cards in. Also rose petals which we put in tulle bags for our guests to throw after the ceremony.
We also had a beautiful white flower wall used as a backdrop for photos.
And had a champagne coup glasses to make a champagne tower.

Seeing Romulo waiting for me at the end of the aisle, and my mom next to the officiant translating. Honestly, the whole day was amazing from start to finish. We both really loved our wedding day and wouldn’t change a thing about it!
We completely got lost in the moment and forgot about our first dance so when they announced it, we just went with it but we were caught off guard so we messed up. We practiced but clearly not enough 🙂 – we laughed and made the best of it 🙂

Plan one thing at a time so it’s not overwhelming. That’s the only way to enjoy it and have fun with it. There will still be stressful moments but a lot less stressful if you give yourself time and only focus on the details of one thing at a time.
For the day itself just have fun. It will be the most incredible day regardless.

Well, how beautiful was their day? Oh my!
Dominika and Romulo, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your sensational barn wedding in Poland.
