Elegant & Timeless Champagne & White St Audries Park Wed

What a treat it is to be sharing Jordan and Sophie’s elegant and exuberant St Audries Park wedding story. Their timeless nuptials were held in the beautiful Somerset countryside surrounded by their loved ones. Their day was truly and utterly stunning.

With a champagne and white colour scheme, they kept the styling chic and classic. Think gypsophila and white roses, lovely signage and romantic candlelight. Their outfits were ever so stylish and their portrait session at sunset looked totally unforgettable.

St Audries Park Wedding

The Proposal

The proposal was romantic and intimate, set on a quiet beach in the Dominican Republic. No big show, decoration, or photographer needed, just the two of us.

The Vision

An elegant and timeless day, filled with all of our nearest and dearest.
Summer was a must as we wanted to be outside for parts of the day. We all know UK summer doesn’t guarantee good weather, but we were extremely lucky to have a sunny, no cloud in view kind of day.
A big party with lots of food, drink and happiness.

The Venue

The beautiful St Audries Park in Somerset.

A stunning country manor house with a gorgeous orangery. Not only was the venue breathtakingly beautiful, but it could also accommodate all of our guests to stay. This was a necessity for us as we didn’t want to feel like the party ended at midnight, or when transport/buses came to take people home – those who wanted to go to bed could, those who wanted to stay up could.

The Ceremony & Music

Set in the beautiful orangery at St Audries Park.

Yazzy Chamberlain sang as guests were seated. The bride and bridal party walked down the aisle to River Flows In You by Yiruma, a stunning piano piece. When exiting the orangery after the ceremony, the Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir began singing as we exited between all of our friends and family who were blowing bubbles instead of a confetti throw.

Bride

Dress – Made With Love HARRY, purchased from Kiva & Zen Bridal Devon. I had had this on my Pinterest board from when I was 16 (before I’d even met Jordan!). Never thought I would have been able to have the dress as the brand is Australian. I found a local UK retailer and knew straight away it was the one! It was the perfect mix of elegant, simplistic and sexy with the plunging draped back and figure-hugging silhouette
Veil – Minimalistic and elegant, dotted with pearls.
Shoes – Dune Daliah white satin heels.
I wore my mum’s diamond tennis bracelet as my ‘something borrowed’.
I had pearls from my grandma’s wedding dress made into hair pins as my ‘something old’.

The Styling & Decor

Very minimalistic and neutral. The theme was champagne and white, and the venue was decorated with beautiful flowers and candles.

Our talented friends (who were also our florists!) created the most stunning bouquets and flower arrangements using white roses and gypsophila.

Our cake was three-tiered and plain white iced, decorated purely with a cascade of white roses and a few sprigs of gypsophila.

All decorations (reserved seat tags, ceremony fans, table names, table numbers, lottery ticket wedding favours and QR code tags for an electronic disposable camera) and signs (welcome sign, unplugged ceremony, seating plan) were all made by the bride.

The Honeymoon

To be confirmed! A new house and a puppy have currently taken priority!

Memorable Moments

Secretly watching all of our loved ones arrive at the venue from the bridal getting ready room on the morning of our big day.
Having my big brother fly back from Australia for our big day.
Having a chair in memory of my grandad at the front of the ceremony and reception room, which also had a buttonhole.
As a Norland Nanny – having some of my most loved charges be my page boys and flower girl on my big day.
Seeing Jordan balling his eyes out at the end of the aisle!
Surprising Jordan (Welsh, from the valleys) with the incredible Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir when exiting our ceremony.
Having a sneak peek of our stunning photographs on the day with our parents, the best man and maid of honour.

Advice For Other Couples

Enjoy every moment, from the engagement, planning stages and excitement, to the financial stress and disagreements. It truly is the most incredible day of your life, take it all in, it comes and goes in the blink of an eye.

Oh, and the post-wedding blues are real!
