Are you still searching for the ‘one’? No I’m not talking about the dress, I’m talking about the photographer! Getting the right photographer should be high on your list, and i have the pleasure of talking to a rather fabulous one today, the super talented Hannah Mia Photography.
Hannah is a wedding photographer based in Hertfordshire and is available throughout the UK. She captures effortlessly gorgeous images, and i am excited to share a few with you today.
{w} Hi Hannah, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?
My name is Hannah, I’m a documentary wedding photographer based in Hertfordshire. I desperately want a Micro Pig, am a bit in love with Harry Potter and I listen to music far too loudly far too often.
{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?
What’s not to love?! I spend my weekends surrounded by happy people celebrating, dressed to the nines (and reading wedding blogs in my downtime). On top of this, I know that I am creating heirlooms and hopefully one day their grandchildren will be pouring over an album I designed!
{w} How did you get into photography and into the wedding industry?
I definitely think it was the Internet that first opened my eyes to great photography, from there I took some cringe-worthy self-portraits and then convinced models to let me take their photos. For a few years my business was focused on building model portfolios, fashion shoots and then burlesque shows. I started seeing a lot of really creative and gorgeous wedding photography around and at the same time was looking for something with a bit more meaning – I loved photographing the in-between moments and a wedding is full of emotion in-between moments! Oh and I am a hopeless Disney-style romantic.
{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?
Of course, I want to create beautiful imagery with real emotion that shows my couples looking their best as well as capturing the spirit and atmosphere of the day. But, it’s also very important to me that I don’t turn a wedding into a photoshoot and that I make the couple feel comfortable in front of the camera.
{w} What style is your work?
I am a documentary wedding photographer (with some posed shots thrown in there) specialising in natural, timeless and romantic wedding photography.
{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?
My packages are structured around the length of time I am at the wedding – ranging from 5 hours to unlimited coverage. I feel this is a great way for those with smaller weddings or budgets to still have access to my photography services. Pricing starts at £815 and goes up to £1,300, with an average spend of around £1,000 – every package includes a DVD of high-resolution, edited images. I also offer super gorgeous coffee table albums which start at around £300.
{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their wedding photographer?
I would suggest asking to see a whole wedding (blogs are great for this) so you can see how the photographer tells the story of the whole day and that their work is consistent. From a more personal perspective, I feel it’s important to meet (or at least chat with) a couple – your photographer will spend a lot of time with you during the day so you really need to feel comfortable with them.
{w} How can we get in touch with you?
I love to chat, so, feel free to e-mail me at hannah@hannahmia.com, call me on 07890 710201, or like me on Facebook – http://www.facebook.com/HannahMiaPhotography
Oh my what a stunning portfolio of imagery. Thanks so much Hannah!! Take a visit to Hannah’s site to see even more of her beautiful work right now 😉 XOXO Lou
