Afternoon my loves.

Today i get to introduce you to the rather fabulous Alexa Loy. I have been lucky enough to be photographed by Alexa, who has just won the Hitched Breakthrough award for Best New Wedding Photographer. And i can say she is not only a super lovely lady but a super talented photographer who makes you feel relaxed in front of the camera.

Alexa is a wedding photographer based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and is available to shoot throughout the UK. Her photography is light filled and beautiful whilst capturing intimate moments.

{w} Hi Alexa, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

 

Hello, I’m Alexa and I’m a wedding and portrait photographer based in Hertfordshire and London but love adventures working all over the UK. I am a happy creative soul in love with the little things in life, a good cup of tea and my camera.

{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?

 

I love getting to know my clients and being part of their wedding day. I love taking photographs and being able to do it as my job is amazing. For me photography is about nostalgia, telling stories and creating memories – I love creating a wedding album that can be opened again and again over years to come. I love to find the uniqueness in all the clients I work with and it’s this that drives my creativity. Most of all, my job is lots of fun!

 

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

 

I want them to have a fun and relaxed experience when it comes to their wedding photography. I work in a laidback documentary style way and really enjoy creating beautiful portraits during the couples session. For me photography is about nostalgia, telling stories and creating memories – I love creating a wedding album that can be opened again and again over years to come. I love to find the uniqueness in all the clients I work with and it’s this that drives my creativity.

 

{w} What style is your work?

 

The way I love to photograph is about connecting with my subject, exclaiming with delight when I find beautiful light, exploring surroundings, creating sparkly blurry backgrounds, shooting with prime lenses, texture and colour, emotive black and whites, finding interesting ways of looking.

 

{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?

{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their wedding photographers?

 

Meet up with them or talk on the phone – get to know them a little before you book. Look at their portfolio and see if you can imagine your wedding shot in their style can really help. A photographer’s blog is always a good place to get an idea of their most recent work and their personality too – don’t be afraid to ask questions you’d like to know too.
