Engagement shoots are a great way to prepare for your wedding portraits. You not only get to know your photographer but it enables you to feel at ease in front of the lens together. It can be tricky to think of a location or concept for a portrait style shoot, but if you choose something you will feel relaxed doing it can create wonderful results.
Dean is a chef and so he cooked up a breakfast for fiancée Shelby, which was all perfectly captured by their photographer Jennifer Van Elk Photography.
“Shelby walked up behind Dean while he was busy at the stove cooking a sumptuous breakfast hash. She wrapped her arms around, holding him while he cooked. He smiled as he turned to look at his beautiful fiancée. This was one of the most loving and gorgeous scenes I have captured. I was so happy to have the opportunity to work with Shelby and Dean and to be able to capture some candid shots of them cooking together at Meridian Restaurant & Bar, the restaurant where Dean is the Executive Chef. We met earlier that day at Holcomb Gardens to do a few shots of the two of them together, but then headed over to Meridian Restaurant & Bar to capture some shots of them cooking. Steve was with me, and Shelby and Dean made us the most lovely brunch that I think either of us has ever had.”
