I am so very excited today to introduce you to the rather wonderful Annelie Eddy Photography. Annelie is a UK Documentary wedding photographer. She says “My style is unobtrusive and relaxed — nothing too staged or formal. I like to capture the events and real emotions as the day unfolds. For me the best pictures are the ones where I capture a genuine, special moment, like the two of you sharing a little look, you having a giggle with your best friend, or your Aunt shedding a tear of joy.”
Take it away Annelie…
{w} Hi Annelie, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?
I’m Annelie. I live in North London with my husband, Steve. Photographing people is one of my favourite things in the world. I also love picnics, sunsets, and cherries. And watching films, particularly when it’s dark and miserable outside.
{w} What do you love/dislike about your job?
I love the excitement, happiness, and emotions of weddings, and I feel very lucky that I get to share this special day with so many couples. I’m constantly amazed by how different each wedding is, and I love capturing the uniqueness of the day in a creative way. And above all, I love making my clients happy.
{w} How did you get into photography and into the wedding industry?
I have always loved taking pictures but I was never quite brave enough to take it up as a career. A few years ago, my husband Steve and I took a year out and travelled the world. Apart from being great fun, it gave me a lot of time to think about what is important in my life and changed my perspective on things. So when we got back, I decided to follow my dream, and become a professional photographer. I attended lots of courses, read everything I could find on cameras and wedding photography, and took up assisting jobs. It’s one of the best decision I’ve made in my life and I haven’t looked back since.
{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?
I listen to my clients to find out what is important to them. It is their big day and I want them to experience and live the day, rather than pose for photos. I don’t interfere but observe to catch those special moments. For formal shots, I’ll make sure that I minimise the time this takes so the couple you can get back to mingling with their friends and family.
{w} What style is your work?
I would describe my style as unobtrusive and relaxed – nothing too staged or formal. I like to photograph the events and real emotions as the day unfolds. For me the best pictures are the ones where I capture a genuine, special moment, like the happy couple sharing a little look, the Bride having a giggle with her best friend, or an Aunt shedding a tear of joy.
I create natural and timeless images. I take care not to over-process photographs so that they will continue to look great in 30 years time when you share them with your grandchildren.
{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?
Full day coverage starts from £1,200. All of my packages include a CD of the images of the day. All images are digitally processed and enhanced, and they come to you in high resolution and in full size for you to use in any way you wish.
Engagement Portrait sessions and wedding albums are also available.
{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their photographer?
Make sure that you feel comfortable with your photographer and that you trust and like them – after all, you are going to be spending one the most important days in your life with them.
It also always a good idea to check that they have insurance, and a back-up strategy equipment and memory, in case there is a glitch on the day.
{w} How can we get in touch with you?
