What a way to finish the week, in complete and utter style with these botanical tipi wedding ideas. Swoon!
I do love a tipi wedding, they are so fantastically magical, with real drama, so just wait until you see the incredible table set up with twinkling candlelight. It sure is a showstopper and demonstrates that a small wedding can be just as special as a larger do. There are so many amazing ideas here, from the cake and signs to the transport and attire. All equally gorgeous and perfect for a countryside affair.
Big thanks to Georgi Mabee and Sage and Belle Styling for kindly sharing these dreamy, inspirational images with us.

Tipi weddings are becoming increasingly popular, and it’s easy to see why. They have a much more relaxed and natural feel than a traditional marquee and are perfect for lovers of nature and the outdoor lifestyle.
The boho trend is really strong at the moment, and I wanted to blend this with a more romantic, rustic feel and create a botanical boho style that would sit perfectly in its meadow setting. I love how a tipi wedding offers a real connection to the outdoors and nature and this is something I wanted to reflect in the styling.
The tipi was set for an intimate wedding of 18 with a real wow factor top table featuring a decorated frame with lots of hanging tea lights. To get the relaxed, botanical boho look, we combined lots of fresh foliage and pampas with natural wood, seagrass and macramé to create the botanical boho. Lots of candles and fairy lights then brought everything together to create a wonderfully romantic atmosphere.
Meadow Vale Weddings
The beautiful Meadow Vale Weddings which is set in 18 acres of land in the Nottinghamshire countryside and is perfect for a tipi wedding. It’s also a small glamping site with individually decorated yurts and couples can rent the whole site for 3 nights/4 days and have a full weekend wedding celebration!

Sophie from Big Day Blooms and Cakes
The inspiration for the day was to create a boho botanical feel: the boho elements being very on trend within wedding floristry for 2021/22 and the botanical element being used harmonise the look, so it sat well in the luscious countryside setting of the Meadow Vale venue. Hues of pink were fundamental to the proposed style of the day: this along with the boho feel demanded the use of naturally pink, dried pampas grass as a key element of the floral arrangements. Tonally the pink pampas grass sits well amongst sage green foliage, hence fourth an array of eucalyptus and Grevillea were added to the mix. The choice of fresh flowers for the day included Anthuriums, appropriately named ‘attractive love’, with their glossy finish and structured form perfectly juxtaposing the feathery dried grass. Statement Mundii Protea also added another textural element and marry well with the dried elements in delivering a boho feel. Seasonal roses and Astrantia were dotted through for colour and to give a true wedding elegance to the pieces.
The main feature for the day was an over table frame, perfect for an intimate wedding, or to frame the newlyweds if they choose to sit on a sweetheart table. Bridging the top of this set up with plentiful foliage and then finishing the set up with two elaborate mixes of fresh flowers, pampas and more eucalyptus foliage compositions allows for a couple to use their florals to define their boho botanical theme in one statement area of their special day.

Vicky from Inviting Writing
Variety is the name of this game and it’s what I love! I love writing on different surfaces as well as combining different textures to create something really interesting to look at. I am also keen to collaborate on projects where possible so that other small businesses can be involved. This shoot allowed me to explore lots of different varieties which proved a small challenge! There was a cotton flag, handmade paper, acrylic and wood to write on! I collaborated with Charlotte from local business Melton Macrame to come up with what I hope are pretty original ideas in some of the signage and the stationery. Tipis bring a sense of bohemian and chilled out times and macrame fits so well with that so I was pleased to have her make macrame tassels for the name cards and also combine macrame with acrylic for some of the signage.

Karen from Stand Out Ceremonies
The ceremony included a unity ceremony where the bride and groom blended wildflower seeds together, symbolic of the blending of their new lives. As well as fitting the free-spirited nature theme, this was designed with the micro wedding trend in mind; the mixed seed can be gifted to absent guests to feel involved in the occasion and watch love bloom year after year!
The bride’s seeds were Gypsophila – representing purity of emotion and symbolising everlasting love, this delicate, elegant flower brought a gentle sweetness to the blend. The groom’s seeds were Cornflower. In folklore young men wore cornflowers if they were in love and it symbolises devotion and commitment to a future together. A robust and reliable bloom, giving strength through whatever storms may lie ahead.
Again to fit the outdoor, meadow location the couple signed their wedding certificate while standing; an option for free-spirited couples who want a fully relaxed ceremony without the formality of being seated at a table. They also used his and her clipboards to show couples reading out their own, unique vows written from the heart (and making each other laugh!).

Following the mood board set by Vickie from Sage and Belle, I created a braided hairstyle to suit both a princess and outdoor feel. It’s a beautifully loose ‘down-do’ which is perfect for a bride who wants hair off her face but not in a traditional up-do way. The look was finished off with dried flower pins made by the florist, Sophie.

Charlotte from Melton Macramé
Macrame has become very trendy recently but it is actually quite an old craft (from the 13th century). It’s become really popular for boho weddings, but we just wanted to add a few touches to compliment the botanical boho look so we did this by making little macramé tags to go on the name cards, some macramé decor around the perspex quote sign, a macramé bouquet wrap and wedding backdrop.
In terms of materials, everything used for the shot was cotton cord, for the little tags/tassels it was vintage cotton and for the bigger pieces it was just natural 3mm cotton cord. Plus wood when it comes to the wedding backdrop!

The inspiration came from the mood board that Vickie from Sage and Belle sent to me. When I read the title theme of ‘Botanical Bohemian’ it basically manifested from that. I knew I wanted it to be soft and romantic. A dreamy look came to my mind straight away, incorporating nature and all the prettiness that can entail. I had been wanting to use a beautiful 3D floral lace I had seen for some time and this seemed the perfect opportunity. I love blush pinks and the soft pink in the flower on the lace worked perfectly with the soft ivory tulle. I wanted the flowers to look like they were growing on the gown, like a secret garden and quite organic. I had also been wanting to make a gown with voluminous balloon sleeves, again this seemed the perfect opportunity. The tulle kept them quite soft and romantic but they also added a bit of an edge to the gown. The fact that they’re also detachable means you can create 2 different looks.
The materials used were from one of my favourite bridal fabric companies. To keep the gown soft, I kept the whole thing in ivory tulle, with the lace laid on top so it looks like almost one fabric. The plain tulle has a beautiful shimmer to it creating a little bit of a subtle sparkle. The lace looks like a climbing wall flower with 3D flowers and leaves, attached again to tulle.
I think the botanical bohemian trend is very big right now. It’s such a romantic look and lends itself perfectly to an outdoor wedding. Something beautifully elegant but a little laid back and informal.

After seeing the styling, dress and venue there was no question the makeup was to be kept natural, pretty and subtle. Sometimes less is more and this was one of those occasions. It was a super hot day and with such a beautiful canvas, my job was just to enhance features and add to the dreamy feel of the shoot. The key products used to create this look were:
Charlotte Tilbury Rose Gold Cream Shadow, Urban Decay Honey Eyeshadow Palette, Bobbi Brown skin weightless foundation, Nars Blusher in, Smashbox Lipstick in Coffee Run and Bare Minerals Cosmic lip gloss.
