This afternoon we are chatting all things pretty and perhaps a little bit sparkly.

Choosing the perfect bridal hair accessories to tie in with that super special wedding dress can be a real challenge. But I think I have a real find for those of you looking for delicate and beautiful hair accessories for you and your bridesmaids.

I am thrilled to be speaking with Sarah, the designer behind couture bridal accessory boutique Britten. From their latest collection of divine hair pins to earrings and feather fans, Britten has something just perfect for the most stylish of brides to treasure.

 

Hi Sarah, could you firstly tell WWW readers a little bit about you?

 

I’m from Hampshire originally and studied handbag design at Cordwainers College in London, part of the London College of Fashion. After university I realised that bridal fashion was what interested me. I like champagne (or cava!), country house hotels and my golden retriever Alfie!

What do you love/dislike about your job?

 

I can’t deny that the awards parties and the recognition that come with them are fun. The smiles that last for days though; they come from the reviews and feedback of our brides.

 

How did you get into the wedding industry?

 

I love the focus of designing something that is for one big day and may be cherished for decades or even generations.

What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

 

A moment of joy! When the headpiece goes on for the first time they need to feel that wonderful initial excitement and also know that they can feel comfortable and happy for the rest of the day without having to think about it!

 

What style is your work?

 

We are about classic and timeless design. We are fashion led but we want granddaughters to be able to wear our pieces in 50 years; you have to bear that in mind!

Could you tell us some information about your pricing?

 

As we sell direct and avoid the unnecessary costs in ‘traditional’ retail our prices start from £42, we have just launched our new wedding hairpin collection, and include free delivery. You can buy only in our own boutique near Bath or online at brittenweddings.com

 

 

Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their wedding suppliers?

 

I can only go on personal experience and say don’t skimp on the photographer! The day itself is wonderful but you need to bank those memories, almost nothing is as important as a truly fantastic photographer!
