Did you explore and reconnect with nature during lockdown? I really love the ethos behind today’s countryside elopement ideas shoot.
Chloe Martin Photography and Laura Hillman Weddings wanted to create inspiration for couples that want nature at the heart of their wedding day. The results are so gorgeous; a countryside manor house, a table for two, gorgeous flowers and stylish attire. Simple, yet so achingly beautiful. Elopements are all about celebrating your love and always about the two of you! Take it all in guys.

This was a concept that Laura and Chloe had worked on for quite some time during lockdown. Our vision for this shoot was to inspire non-traditional wildly in love couples with a passion for nature and the outdoors, to elope to the countryside in style.
We felt that when the wedding market reopened many couples who had their plans disrupted or those who had recently got engaged would have reconnected with nature and would be rethinking their plans moving away from the traditional wedding format.

We chose Northbrook Park, Surrey as our location because it is a beautiful 18th century manor house set amongst manicured gardens and next to a lake. Birds of prey fly high in the sky and there is even a resident peacock strutting around. So, it was the perfect place for our inspiration to tie the knot surrounded by nature.
We wanted to create a relaxed yet stylish day full of meaningful and refined details to tell our couples story and create a personalised day.

We selected dusty pinks and earthy tones to draw on the surroundings and even weaved feathers into the design to embrace nature further.
We wanted to highlight that an intimate celebration can be just as detailed and stylish as a larger wedding. Our setting for dinner was a cute bistro table set-up for two, nestled in the walled garden surrounded by spring flowers and a magnolia tree. Tumbling timeless florals adorned the table complemented by modern tableware prices including twisted pink candles, green glassware and gorgeous personalised menus tied with dusty pink silk.

We also took great lengths to lessen the impact on the environment, selecting suppliers whose values were similar. Our shoot incorporated seasonal flowers, ethically made and sustainable products, recycled materials, and slow fashion products where possible. We understand that our wedding couples are mindful of the impact of the environment, and it is a balancing act between having their dream day and making mindful choices to lessen the impact.

Our bride wore the Daisy gown from Jessica Turner’s new ‘Where the Wild Things Grow’ Sumer 2022 collection. All Jessica’s gowns are ethically made using luxurious fabrics, peace silks all organic and GOTS certified. We added ‘Hetty’ forest green shoes by Harriet Wilde for an edgy look! A matching green hat for the day and switched to a gorgeous rose hairpiece by Ophelia Ren Bridal for dinner. Our bride also wore beautiful, luxurious, and sustainable diamond jewellery by Lily Arkwright.

Lastly, we wanted to include a showstopper of a cake. Just because it is an elopement it does not mean couples cannot go all out!
