This engagement shoot just has style and personality stamped all over it.
Liam and Ollie were engaged after Ollie’s romantic third proposal and they headed to the Thames bank in the East End for their wonderful engagement shoot.
The hired dapper Edwardian suits previously seen on screen, which looked so very brilliant. So much love here today folks.
Miss Gen Photography, thank you so much for sharing your incredible photographs.

Ollie and I meet actually via grindr! We both hit it off with stupid chat. He asked me what I was up to and I responded chilling with a date and set him a picture of a dried date. His instant response was Marry me! I admit it was forward but once we meet the next day and had 4 dates that weekend we just seemed to work and we’ve only been apart for a few days since.

The proposal didn’t go smoothly infact it took Ollie three go. First time I was to done in after work and just wanted my bed. Second time my best man split with his partner. But as they say third time a charm… well sort of. Ollie took me to the Oxo tower for a spot of lunch and just as the sunset and we had some drinks on the private roof terrace he started to go down on one knee. I begged him not to.
I believe I told him I would kick him if he did it! The reason was all the people in the restaurant were looking and wondering why we were the only people allowed on the private terrace in January! I forgot that someone Special was asking me to spend the rest of my life with them and share the love we have for each other forever. He had a handmade plastic version of the ring he planned to have made and it was stunning. Of course I said yes!

We are both Londoners and I grew up in the East End. Ollie is an architect in Wapping and we knew that as a location it had some timeless charm due to the old warehouses and waterways. As a Londoner The Thames play a special part of our everyday lives but no one really explores the thames bank. We knew that if we timed the shoot right we could explore the bank and find cool locations that in a few hours would again be underwater.Once we choose Wapping we knew we wanted to look like dapper gents. I remember growing up in hackney and seeing Gilbert and George wondering the streets in their perfectly tailored jackets. We wanted to pay homage to that but also give it a edgy only in London feel. We meet with the fancy dress guys at Angels on Shaftesbury avenue and they decked us out in suits used in Ripper St and Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes.Gen (the photographer) was amazing. We both naturally clam up if told to smile. instead Gen worked subtly in the background capturing moments that where natural and felt real. There was no sniff each others hair or being told to look whimsical. Gen gave us a little guidance and found shots that blew our socks off. We loved the pics so much that we used them for our wedding invites.

I (Liam) have worked in Marketing for over 12 years and have run huge events in the past but this day I hope will blow peoples socks off. We love DIY and salvage and we’ve worked really hard to marry our love of quirk and originality to make this day our own. We are hosting our day at One Friendly Place which is an old spice warehouse in Deptford. We’ve spent the last year and a half raiding charity shops and buying up old plates, cutlery and knick knacks. We are catering the event ourselves and will lay on a full ploughman’s lunch that is also the table decoration. So our guests will eat their way through the centre pieces. At night we’ve gone classic east end with salt beef bagels.Ollie’s best man is an event florist and the ceremony and disco will take place in an indoor forest that includes an arch made of foliage and action men! At night the same space will turn into a forest at night with subtle lighting and 70’s disco light screens.Nothing is off the peg. We even have custom made tweed suits that have the little nods to our edwardian engagement shoot. We really want our guests to remember the day but also love the passion we have put in to it. A wedding is the only real time a group of people celebrate love and to us love is all about those little bits of details that make you know the other person cares.

Oh my, I cannot wait to see this wedding that is for sure.
Thanks so much for sharing guys xo Lou
