Grace and Jezz’s Frickley Lake wedding in East Sussex was a total dream. A summer’s day filled with love, laughter and music.
There were the most gorgeous florals, pink styling and super stylish outfits. Grace looked amazing in her puff sleeve gown while Jezz wore a navy suit and the bridesmaids mismatched dresses in pink! Wow.
Look out for a very pretty cake table, sunset portraits and a spot of rowing.
Natalia Case Photography, thank you so much for sharing with us these incredible shots of a magical summer celebration.

Low key, at our home we share with our (at the time) six-month-old baby girl and our lovely dog. We had been listening to lots of our favourite songs that evening and when we had put our little girl Athena down to sleep, we had cracked open a bottle of something nice to relax and have our first date night since having her.
Jezz went upstairs to ‘check on Athena’ who definitely was sound asleep and came down and proposed then and there in our living room. Music playing, lots of love and emotion… of course I said yes. I almost forgot!! I proposed first!
Rewind to over a year before, child-free and at our local, I proposed to Jezz on the last leap year and got down on one knee on our drunken walk home. He accepted, but also wanted to ask me.
Everyone we love, family, friends, our dog. A beautiful country setting, a band, fun, laughter and drinks.

We went way over budget, but it was worth it.
Frickley Lake, East Sussex.

Groom: A beautiful navy Paul Smith suit, black dickie bow and white shirt. It is the most complimented piece of clothing I have ever worn. The fabric was perfect for the hot summer’s day.
Bride: A dreamy dress made by Leanne Marshall, called Seqouia. Sold to me by Rock the Frock Brighton, who currently have it on sale there. I did not want to keep it in its box forever and hope that another or others get a chance to wear such a gorgeous dress for their big days. I truly felt like Titania from Midsummer night’s dream
Bex the celebrant helped us with so much of the ceremony and she also was our MC. She was wonderful! It started with David Bowie, went to Johnny Flynn and Leon Bridges.
The aisle song was You’re so cool, Hanz Zimmer. My Mum walked down the aisle with my stepfather to this song, in beautiful Greece for their wedding and it is from the soundtrack of Jezz’s favourite film ‘True Romance’.
We created our own eclectic playlists for the ceremony and during the wedding breakfast. Loads of our favourite songs. Our main aim was to create a happy, informal atmosphere, where everyone could feel relaxed and enjoy themselves.

DIY mainly between bride and Becca my now sister-in-law. All the flowers and the gorgeous pampas cloud was designed and created by Kate Neech, who is the best florist on earth.
The glamping tents and the venue itself gave such a beautiful relaxed feel to the setting and the atmosphere of the day.
The cake was designed by Harriet of Baked by Harri, timeless and gorgeous.
The bridesmaids were all in varied shades of pink.

We went to the beautiful island of Rhodes in Greece and enjoyed a relaxing two weeks by the pool, at the beach and visiting local ancient sites. Oh and eating lots of yummy food. A few weeks later we visited Southern Italy and had a smaller break exploring Tuscany… more good food!
All of it… it was amazing, I can’t believe it was my wedding.
The ceremony was just wow! Our flowers were just outstanding. The speeches were all so beautiful and a proud moment for us both.
The band was such good fun and after the band, the venue organised a silent disco to end the night. A final glass was enjoyed with friends and family sat around campfires once the evening was done. What a day.

Do take those moments together to step back and just take a breather together. Everyone tells you to do it and I am glad we took head with their advice.
Only do things that you want to do, don’t feel any pressure to invite people if you really don’t want them there and you are just being polite.
Choose the suppliers that you love, and take the time to look through their past work, portfolios etc. Instagram is so good for doing a deep dive on suppliers and that way you can really get a feel of the work they produce and if that is right for you.

How very beautiful!
Grace and Jezz, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your Frickley Lake wedding story with us.
