It’s one of those times I thank my lucky stars we live in such a beautiful world. OK, call me mushy, but when you settle your eyes on these breathtaking images of this Glacier Point wedding held in Yosemite National Park on 19th October 2020, you’ll know exactly what I mean.
Sarah and Adam wanted a kind of destination wedding, an intimate outdoorsy day that really represented who they are. They hiked up to their ceremony spot which had views of Half Dome in the background. Wow! I love how they involved Adam’s daughter in their ceremony too, so special.
Of course, they both looked totally gorgeous and I think you are really going to fall for these stunning images by Vows and Peaks, which I am so thankful to be sharing with you.

The proposal incorporated all the things I (Sarah) love. The evening started with a game Adam and his daughter Georgia had created in which we had to follow clues to find where one of Georgia’s toys had been kidnapped and hidden (to symbolize my love for true crime). Adam had also ordered one of those in-home breakout games for us to do since I love doing escape rooms. Then Adam and Georgia put on a magic show for me because I love magic.
Before the final trick Georgia said, “And for our final trick, we will change our lives forever.” Adam then got down on one knee and proposed to me right there in Georgia’s bedroom.
We knew we wanted to do some sort of destination wedding from the start. We both love the outdoors. We love hiking, camping, and just doing anything in nature so an outdoor wedding was what we wanted from the start. Our vision was a small, intimate ceremony with only our immediate family present in a beautiful area.
The venue for the ceremony was Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park. It was the perfect setting for a sunrise ceremony with an amazing view of Half Dome in the background. After the ceremony, Adam and I along with our photographer and videographers did some additional photos around Glacier Point as well as a sunset session at Taft Point.

Sarah’s wedding dress was made by designer Oleg Cassini and purchased at David’s Bridal. I had a general idea about what I wanted in a wedding dress going in. I knew I wanted one with lace sleeves and a beautiful back, but those were really the only “requirements” I had. As soon as I saw the dress I ended up buying, I knew it was made for me. It had everything I wanted as well as being the most beautiful wedding dress I had ever seen.
Adam’s suit was purchased at Express. We didn’t want to go with a traditional tux, or even a black suit since we weren’t doing a traditional wedding. The suit fit him so perfectly and the color looked so exquisite on him so we knew that had to be the one.
The ceremony began with an acoustic version of “Here Comes The Sun” by Acoustic Guitar Collective (Spotify) with Adam’s daughter, Georgia, and our nephew, Sebastian, walking down the aisle as the flower girl (throwing out biodegradable confetti) and the ring bearer. Then Sarah’s father walked her down the aisle to “The Wedding March” by The Violin Sisters (Spotify).
Adam’s father, Tim, performed the ceremony. We started with prayer, followed by vows Adam and I had prepared for each other. We also added family vows in our ceremony since we were becoming a blended family, so Georgia joined us at the altar to answer 3 questions about how we would love and honor each other, to which we would all reply “I promise.” Then came the exchanging of rings, and you may now kiss the bride! Recessional music was “I Do” by Colbie Caillat (Spotify). Our first dance song was “Tuesdays” by Jake Scott (Spotify).

Our photographer was Sean Oblizalo (Vows and Peaks) and videographers were Kaylyn and Holden Pierce (Backcountry Vows). Both were AMAZING and we were so blessed to have been able to work with them. They are truly the best at what they do.
Sierra Flowers in Coulterville, CA did the flowers. We didn’t really have any decorations or a reception.

We had originally planned to go to New Zealand for our honeymoon, but thanks to COVID-19, we had to change those plans. We still ended up having the perfect honeymoon, going to multiple locations throughout our trip. We started in South Lake Tahoe, CA to visit Emerald Bay state park. Then we traveled to Utah where we visited Zion National Park. Our last stop was Colorado Springs, CO where we went to the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak.
The whole day was memorable in itself, but one moment that stuck out to me was before the wedding started when Alan (Adam’s brother) was putting in Sarah’s veil and there were a couple of deer that ran up the hill and behind where we were. Also, the fact that days prior to our wedding, the fires in Yosemite had made the sky so smoky, but that morning of our ceremony I just remember thinking of how God had made such a clear, perfect morning for us.
Adam’s most memorable moment was seeing Sarah walk down the aisle (we didn’t do a first look so that was the first time he saw me in my wedding dress). Hiking in a wedding dress was also pretty memorable 🙂 Also, just the moments Adam and I were able to really just stop and take in the moment we were in at the time. We will never forget that day as long as we live.
Love each other every day. Don’t get caught up so much in the things you have to do that you forget to do the things you get to do.
