WWW readers Ellie and Lyndon took the rule book, threw it out and made their day totally and utterly their own. Their Heist Bank wedding in London was absolutely divine for a multitude of reasons.
Firstly, I just love Ellie’s outfits, the bridal separates, the shoes, and the sequin jumpsuit! Swoon. Meanwhile, Lyndon looked dapper in his sharp suit and the maids wore mismatched bridesmaid dresses. Wow. I love the fun and games, the doughnut wedding cake and the gorgeous bouquets.
Huge thanks to Gina Fernandes Photography for kindly sharing these amazing images with us of this chic and stylish city nuptials.

During planning it was really nice to see real weddings for inspiration and find suppliers.

Lyndon proposed after a long week of electrical work in our new house, so I really wasn’t expecting it! We went out for dinner at a new restaurant in town to celebrate the end of a long week. Afterwards, he suggested we should go to see the giant Christmas tree in the town centre where he wanted to give me an early Christmas present.
After unwrapping the box there was another smaller box to unwrap and inside that was the ring! After some lovely words, Lyndon asked me to marry him! We went home to celebrate with some bubbly and shared the news with our families!

The vision was to have a really relaxed day which would feel like a huge party with our friends and family! We wanted a modern space and a day which would feel authentic to who we were as a couple and wouldn’t break the bank.
Around 15k.

Our ceremony took place in the Westminster Room at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, we loved how beautiful the venue was both inside and out.
We chose Heist Bank in Paddington for the after-party because we felt it completely suited us as a couple! There was a games area which had karaoke and they had pizza as an option for the food their cocktail menu included a margarita which are both our favourites!

I walked down the aisle with my dad to an acoustic version of Simply the Best by The Hound + The Fox, it features a couple of times in some of my favourite scenes from the tv show, Schitt’s Creek.
During the ceremony we had Lyndon’s nephews as ring bearers and his sister do a short reading for us. We wrote our own vows which was a lovely personal moment for the both of us.
Our first dance was Old Enough by Jack Garratt, which is a song we both love and an artist we’ve listened to together since we met. Our DJ came recommended by Heist Bank as they are under the Urban Leisure Group and were really accommodating of our requests and music taste!

I visited Rock The Frock pre-loved, as I followed them on Instagram, and loved the idea of a pre-loved outfit. I initially wanted a bridal jumpsuit or something a little bit different and I fell in love with a skirt which felt perfect. This then gave me the challenge of finding a top I liked.
Luckily a boutique called Story Of My Dress Bridal was having a sample sale and featured some beautiful pieces. I didn’t just find a top but also the sequin jumpsuit of my dreams for the evening! Story Of My Dress also created my pearl veil and did all mine and my bridesmaids’ alterations.
When it came to shoes, I fell in love with the Loeffler Randal heels!
Lyndon really wanted to find a suit from a summery colour pallete and found a lovely light blue one from Moss Bros which was perfect.
As a wedding morning gift to each other Lyndon bought me a beautiful pair of pearl earrings from Tiffany’s and I bought Lyndon a Tom Ford cologne and a pair of custom pin badges which were of both our cats for him to wear, so they would be with us on our day!

The amazing Gina Fernandes was our photographer for the day! We chose Gina as we loved her style of documentary photography and the way she captured genuine emotions. She was absolutely fantastic at our pre-shoot and was a dream on the day of the wedding.
Gina made everyone feel comfortable in front of the lens and we had a blast with her!

Heist Bank was already decorated with amazing plants, flowers and artwork so we were lucky that not much was needed on that front!
When it came to bouquets I really wanted to go large and incorporate orchids, luckily my bridesmaid’s mum used to be a florist so she was able to create all my floral arrangements and I still have my orchid plant at home which is starting to bloom again!
I found a peg board from Facebook Marketplace for the seating plan which suited the minimalistic, modern styling we were going for. We decorated each table with a candle lantern with flowers inside for the table numbers which showed myself and Lyndon at different ages.
We used a Polaroid camera for our guest book which we love looking back over and guests really seemed to enjoy. Instead of a traditional cake we chose to have our favourite doughnuts from Crosstown, they have some amazing seasonal flavours and cater for events. We displayed them on a thrifted stand with a mini peg board to show the flavours and light-up letters to decorate.
And, we were really lucky to have my bridesmaid’s mum put all our beautiful bouquets and buttonholes together!

We spent our mini-moon in the south of France straight after the wedding as we wanted our big honeymoon to be an adventure exploring Vietnam in March 2023!

Try not to let other opinions sway your vision! Stick to your guns, eat your favourite foods and invite the people closest to you, there is so much pressure to invite people distant family members or family friends you don’t know well. It’s your day, so make it all about you as a couple!
It’s so easy to go over budget, and weddings can be so expensive and lavish but if it isn’t in the budget it’s not worth starting married life in financial debt. But I would say if you can allocate budget anywhere it would be for decent wedding photography, and it’s 100% worth it, you’ll treasure those pictures forever!

Oh so gorgeous.
I can’t thank Ellie and Lyndon enough for sharing with us their awesome Heist Bank wedding story.
