WWW followers Josie and James are here to share their Hertfordshire barn wedding at The Priory. Their day was super personal, with a pretty pink colour scheme, rustic barn reception and all the joy.
I really love the outfits! Josie’s gown complete with pockets was timeless yet modern, James and the gents wore dashing suits and the bridesmaids wore soft pink frocks. So stylish! There were some lovely touches too, such as the copper pipe candle holders, acrylic signs and blousy blooms. Just wait and until you see it all!
A big thanks go to Isabelle Elliott Photography for sending over these divine images. Really special indeed.

James and I were on holiday in Bari, Italy, and we went to a cave restaurant overlooking the sea – beautiful! Before ordering our drinks and food, James got down on one knee and popped the question. I was so shocked I could barely eat my food, or drink the gorgeous wine. I’d like to go back now to enjoy those things. Maybe an anniversary!

Our vision changed quite a bit as we postponed 3 times. What we did want though was a relaxing barn in the middle of nowhere where we could have the best time and do whatever we wanted. The Priory was amazing and allowed us to do everything we wanted from wine to decor.

Tom Ryder played throughout our afternoon reception – he was perfect. A fantastic local acoustic singer/guitarist.
We also had a DJ in the evening.

I reused my fine art degree copper pipe installations to create candle holders, table name holders, seating plan and welcome sign easel.
White, blush and greenery flower arrangements for the venue, bouquets and buttonholes.

Isabelle Elliot was our photographer and she was excellent. We had postponed 3 times and our last photographer couldn’t do our new date. Luckily Isabelle was available and was really understanding and helped us with planning and she couldn’t have been more perfect on the day. The photos are beautiful and we still can’t stop looking at them.

Bride: Ivory A line mikado dress from Wed2B. I wanted something elegant that wasn’t too expensive. When I tried it on I knew that it was the right dress.
Groom: 3 piece blue chequered suit from Moss Bros. With ivory tie and pocket square. We wanted to match and it really worked! Oh and the maroon leather shoes really made it slightly quirky.

We were supposed to be going to Portugal but last-minute plans were made and we ended up driving around Cornwall. It was beautiful. We bought a new car also – to make sure all our camping gear and paddleboards were able to fit in with us!

Arriving in a series II Land Rover that was from 1960s – father of the bride loved it! It was older than him.
Seeing everybody properly and able to party for the first time since before the pandemic started.

Our photographer Isabelle helped us to get some time to ourselves and we sat back and watched everyone close to us having the best time.
Well, would you look at that? A picture-perfect day.
Josie and James thanks ever so much for sharing your gorgeous Hertfordshire barn wedding.
