This shoot gave me all the feels today. I mean what’s not to love about beautiful woodland, a romantic theme and decadent styling?
Snow White was the inspiration behind this week’s editorial and what a beauty it is. From the sensational show shopping cake draped with red ribbon, to the luxe boho bridal looks and the tables heaving with florals and apples. There is SO much inspiration here for those of you planning ethereal whimsical weddings, I think you’re going to love it! Chloe Lee‘s images have me hook line and sinker, wow wee.
Organiser, stylist and make up artist KayleighKMUA tells us more;
“I am hugely inspired by fairytales and for years wanted to do a collection of shoots inspired by some of the most popular fairytales you can think of and Snow White just had to be my first. The story is so rich in colour, theming and personality that it made sense to jump in and get creative. I wanted to create a story behind the shoot and make it as if Snow White herself was getting married but still wanted it to remain an source of inspiration for whimsical brides to be. I started with a good old Pinterest board and then put out into the universe my ideas, with the hope of getting some amazing fellow creatives on board. Chloe (our magical photographer) was one of the first people to get in touch and she absolutely brimmed with ideas and magic that I had to work with her. She really captured the day and the story quite perfectly, our ideas were the same and we just “got” each other.”

“I wanted to keep the styling really inspired by nature, green, authentic and wild. I loved how the chairs and table had what looked like wild roots and plants just growing around them and the centrepiece was so wild and “real”, it looked like it could have come straight from the forest floor itself. I kept to a simple colour scheme of grey and pink with accents of gold running throughout the entire of the shoot. These contrasted well with the red and green backdrop and added a touch of class amongst the wild woodland background. Of course every table-place had an added red apple as a little Snow White touch.”

“We wanted Snow White to really represent a forest wedding, with what you would naturally find within nature but with a wild edge. SweetPea and Thyme did an amazing job. The bouquet was a personal favourite, dressed with tiny (and real!) apples as a classic nod. She did a fabulous job with the table, using wild thorns and overgrown bushes and leftover flowers and roses, to dress the chairs and create a really authentic feel to the table.”

“Epping Forest is a beautiful woodland, with acres and acres of rich luscious green and beautiful forestry. In every turn, you find magical moss covered ponds, mountains of logs, burrows and flower covered fields. It was the most magical location for our first fairytale.”

“Audrey Ashley supplied the dress with a slight vintage edge to it, I fell in love the moment I saw it. I adored the detailing and the mountain upon mountain of tulle skirt, it was so perfect. Audrey Ashley creates bespoke dresses and even offered to custom make one for us for the shoots, but this one was so classically befitting of Snow White, we knew it was the one.”

“We were so lucky to have a shoot rich in details when it came to styling. The most talented Sash and Veil partnered with PSwithLove to create the gorgeous headpiece and rose adorned veil. I was blown away. It truly was something a Princess would wear. We went with a few different looks throughout the day to appeal to different moods for potential brides. Mel’s Marvellous Millinery created this gorgeous red flower crown for a slightly more boho look and a more playful version of Snow White, whilst Jodi from McFayden Millinery created the most beautiful delicate gold headpiece befitting of a bride looking for a more classic bridal look whilst still wanting to look like a Princess!”
“As well as styling and organising the shoot, my day job is actually a makeup artist, so I got to do what I do best and create our Snow White. We wanted her to have a vintage look, very classic with red lips, which are traditionally thought of with Snow White, but with some modern twists. I kept skin soft and fresh and really played up the eyes, making them look bigger and doe-eyed. For hair, Jennifer from Pin Up’s Up Do’s created a vintage style faux bun with a playful delicate braid across the front. Vintage meets modern boho!”

“Wonderland Invites stepped in with only a matter of days to create something for us, but she really did blow us away with the level of detailing and theming. The menu’s were my favourite with a definite apple theme and everything had a slight Snow White touch to it, without going over the top, which I loved. Jenna herself said “I am a huge Disney fan, and was overrun with ideas when Kayleigh asked me to take part in the shoot. For Snow White, I utilised the synonymous colour palette of red and gold, weaving in lush greens to complement the outside space in which the shoot took place. And apples because what is more Snow White than a big, juicy red apple?”

“Rob from Orange Rabbit Cakes really took the theme into his own and I was overwhelmed with how amazing everything looked. The main cake was beautifully decorated with a glorious long red ribbon, that flowed so elegantly along the forest floor. The detailing and nods to the theme were incredible, with candied apples, red dusting over popcorn, small hints and trinkets everywhere you looked on the dessert table, you could have looked at it for hours!”
