Ready for the luxe wedding of your wildest dreams? Kailin and Eddie’s Nizuc wedding in Cancun, Mexico was nothing short of spectacular.
They had a tropical garden-inspired celebration with opulent flowers and sensational styling. There were incredibly stylish outfits, disco balls, atmospheric lighting and a lot of emotion. From the real flower table plan to the alfresco dancing and first look, you’re going to be in wedding heaven.
Thanks ever so much to Kape Photography for sharing with us these exquisite images of Kailin and Eddie’s magnificent wedding at Nizuc.

The week after Christmas Eddie and I are both off from work so we love to do Christmasy things in NYC.
On 12/29 we went ice skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park and he popped the question on the ice, in the middle of us taking a photo. He had his friend taking photos of us from far away and so we had the entire thing on camera!
We knew right away we wanted to have a destination wedding. We discovered our love for travel with one another so the moment we started talking about where to get married, we thought about Cancun.
Cancun is where we celebrated our 1st anniversary together and felt like it could be the perfect location for us to bring it back to those memories from our 1st anniversary.

We headed to Cancun four months after the proposal to search for venues and at the last minute we added Nizuc Resort and Spa to the list. We literally got off of the plane and went straight there and instantly fell in love.

We knew we needed help from a local wedding planner but was not sure where to start. In the midst of googling different planners, one of our friends posted their wedding video to Facebook. The video was amazing!
We asked them for their vendor’s information and it turned out that their videographer was from Mexico! We ended up booking Social Art Cinema immediately and while we were planning out details, I asked for wedding planner recommendations.
I really loved the luxe vibe of Nizuc. What I wanted to create was a tropical garden in the jungle. So we utilized Nizuc’s green garden to make a tropical disco and utilized their ceremony space to make it look like an English garden.

For our honeymoon, we booked a trip to French Polynesia. We wanted a mix of adventure and relaxation, so we decided to stay in Moorea and Bora Bora.
We started our honeymoon off in Moorea where we could do some site-seeing, go hiking and explore the island. Moorea was more rugged, less refined, more lush, and simply beautiful!
Then we headed to Bora Bora and stayed at the Four Seasons in a stunning overwater bungalow, where we were surrounded by a majestically blue ocean. Our huge suite had breathtaking views of Mt. Otemanu, and every day we got to visit a stunning private beach right in the heart of our hotel.
The day before our wedding, we took our bridal party on a catamaran day excursion and it was so fun! We spent the day lounging and dancing on a boat and it really helped our bridal party feel so special.

My first bit of advice – look at your fiance and look at your ring (often!) You’re engaged, woohoo!
Take the time to really figure out what kind of couple you are and the type of vision you want for your wedding.
The next biggest thing is to figure out your budget and the best way to do that is by starting with a tentative guest list to see how many people you will want at your wedding.
If you can afford it, seek a wedding planning team to help you through the process. Having Xanath and her team really helped take the stress out of planning and I can truly say planning our wedding was actually quite fun because Xanath’s team took care of all of the logistics.
If you are not able to have a planning team, think about trying to delegate some tasks to close friends or family. All in all, the wedding planning process can be super stressful, but take it one task at a time and don’t rush if you can. It truly goes by in a blink of an eye!

Goodness, how beautiful!
Kailin and Eddie, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your beautiful Nizuc wedding story with us.
