Ohh how I love this peony pink wedding. Think fluffy peony bouquet, ruffled gown and all the feels. Yes, it’s time for Alex and Aleah’s intimate, laid back and elegant micro wedding.
Their day was oh so romantic, with a cosy, small church ceremony followed by dreamy portraits. They then headed for an intimate meal to celebrate, complete with a dress change (hello sequins!) and a modern cake.
Alex and Aleah both looked sensational and you can totally feel the love radiating through these images. Thanks to Kelly Hiscox Photography for sharing them with us. Be sure to read right to the end!

Our proposal was very unplanned. I was visiting Alex over a weekend during a trip to Amsterdam with my mom and sister.
On my last day, Alex and I were talking about how hard it would be for me to move to England (from America) and all that we would be going through. We were feeling defeated, but Alex left the room and returned with a family ring. He told me that we would get through it together and asked me to marry him. It was completely unexpected, but exactly what we needed.
Thanks to covid and a small budget, the vision for our wedding was very simple. We wanted it to feel classy and elegant, but laid-back at the same time.
Our colour scheme was pink and carried out in my bouquet, ribbons, cake, and my reception dress. I was set on having peonies and luckily found an amazing florist who created the most delicate and beautiful bouquet of pink peonies, spray roses, and freesia.
We were married at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Northampton. It was built nearly a thousand years ago (I’m a sucker for history) and has beautiful stained glass windows. We also had a small dinner in the garden of The Old House Pub & Kitchen.

Alex’s suit was from Moss Bros. He insisted on wearing a suit that wasn’t black, so we found a nice light grey suit that went perfectly with my cream-coloured dress. We found a pink tie that perfectly matched the peonies at Warwicks.
My dresses were both from Needle & Thread. Their dresses have always been favourites of mine so I couldn’t settle on just one. I ended up choosing a ruffled gown for the ceremony and a fun pink and sequined mini dress for the reception.
Both mine and Alex’s wedding rings are actually family heirlooms, but my earrings were from Elise Tsikis.
I walked down the aisle to Canon in D and that’s about it. Alex wanted to have a big dance party, so hopefully, we can have a big reception down the road!
Our photographer was Kelly Hiscox. We found her on Instagram and quickly fell in love with her style.

Because our wedding was so small, we really didn’t have any decorations. Luckily the church where we had our ceremony was gorgeous on its own.
The cake had two tiers, almond and cherry on top and chocolate hazelnut on the bottom. It was covered in a subtle pink buttercream with tiny sugar flowers throughout.
My favourite part was the bouquet. I LOVE flowers, so it was important to me that I had a lovely bouquet. It was made up of light pink and ivory peonies, cream and pink-tipped spray roses, and white freesia.
Back in America, my mom and I chose several pink ribbons that we tied around the bouquet to add in a little more of my personality.

We’re planning to honeymoon in Paris once things open up a bit more. It’s a favourite of mine and Alex has never been!
My father passed away four years ago so I was escorted down the aisle by my darling eight-year-old brother. He was so nervous, but very helpful the entire day.
Photos! Our photographer Kelly made it so much fun to take photos after our ceremony. She helped us feel relaxed and we ended up having a great time even though it was freezing.
The biggest piece of advice we would give couples is to just enjoy the day. Don’t place any expectations on it, just live in the moment and enjoy everything as it comes.
What a dream!
Alex and Aleah thank you so much for sharing your stunning peony pink wedding story.
