Modern Pink Wedding Ideas

As Vogue has highlighted, one of the trends for 2020 is being creative with what brides are wearing. ‘This year bridal designers are offering up a world of choice for the bride who doesn’t want to look too “bridal”, or wants to wow her guests in multiple looks on the day.’ The modern bride who just wants to look and feel like herself. So, the idea was to explore the way in which we are starting to see wedding outfits as not only the traditional white dress and heels, but something more than that. For the fashion conscious brides out there choice is key and sometimes it can be hard to find inspiration if you want to be a bit avant-garde.

The online, instagram world we live in is gradually shaping the way we see weddings and how brides want to style themselves and their day, bringing creativity and inspiration to the forefront like never before. There is an incredible range of outfits available out there, from Pronovias to ASOS, doing different colours, jumpsuits, suits and more! We wanted to showcase a few of these in a modern, editorial way, choosing outfits that push the boundaries of ‘bridal’. Bang up to date and wowing the crowd!

Pinks have been swirling around on the trend radar for a while and all those previous connotations we had of pink being too girly, sugary and twee have been dashed. Instead being replaced with a new wave of bold and powerful images, taking femininity to edgy new heights. Our cake designer embodied the theme and combined it with stunning, on-trend terrazzo. The hair and make-up artists created ‘new-bridal’ – modern, textured designs and bright pops to give it that fashion edge. Florals, tables and stationery are bright, sugary and abstract, combined with gold hints and matte black it creates a graphic, contemporary edge to the styling.

In the end, what we wanted to say with this shoot was, be bold, be brave. Whether you want traditional, modern, boho or artsy, embrace it and just be you.
