Gorgeous views? Check. Multicolours? Check. Love, fun and happiness? Check. Yep, that’s right, it’s time to share the Plas Dinam Country House wedding in Wales of WWW readers Em and Jon. Hoorah!
I fell hook line and sinker for their super relaxed, family-friendly celebrations. They had so many personal and meaningful elements, from the outdoor humanist ceremony to Jon’s choice of shark tie. It’s all of those little, personal touches that really make a wedding unique to its owners and Em and Jon totally nailed that.
I adore the chairs decked in rainbow ribbons, the glorious flowers and of course Em and Jon’s super stylish attire. It’s also ace to see that WWW wedding supplier Entertainment Nation provided the DJ for the dancefloor action. Amazing.
Big thanks to Wyldbee Photography for sharing these absolutely stunning images with us. Enjoy them all.

It was super useful to see images from real weddings that had a similar vibe to what I had pictured for ours. It was also lovely to see what little extra touches couples had added – plus who dosen’t love to have a little gawp at a wedding!

It was during the first lockdown. Jon took me to the Japanese gardens in Liverpool under the pretence of a family walk. Japan is a special place for us as we went there whilst I was pregnant with our son. We got to the top of a waterfall and I turned round and he was on one knee with a beautiful sapphire and diamond ring. He’d also managed to film it on his phone so we have a permanent reminder.
I wanted bright colours, rustic flowers, nothing that looked too neat or ordered but still beautiful. I wanted my dress to be simple but still make a statement with separate looks for the ceremony, the reception and the evening party. We wanted everyone to feel relaxed and have a great time.

Plas Dinam Country House in Powys. It’s a beautiful mansion that is still a family home. We had the entire house and its surrounding gardens from Friday – Monday.
30 of our closest friends and family stayed in the house for the whole weekend. We got married on the rear lawn with the stunning Welsh countryside as a backdrop. The reception was then in the glass-roofed stables which looked amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue.

We had a humanist ceremony conducted by the fabulous Sian from Wicked Weddings Wales. We worked together via zoom in the months leading up to the day so she could get to know our story and more about our family and us as a couple. Sian wrote our vows with a lot of input from us and we included promises to our children. We had a handfasting ceremony where we literally “tied the knot” as we made our promises and Jon gave me a beautiful welsh gold wedding ring.
I walked down the aisle to “In to my arms” by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, we all sang an acoustic version of Calon Lan – a traditional Welsh song. We “walked out” to The Patio Song by Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci.

Em – my dress is from Otaduy via Rock The Frock Cheshire. I wore the Dhanishta satin slip with the harlow cape for the ceremony. This was the first dress I tried on and I fell in love. Nothing else I tried on compared. It was simple, elegant with a cool edge and felt very “me”. I then changed into the Marin top for the reception which was just beautiful.
My veil for the ceremony was from Sash and Veil and then I had an incredible feather and sequin cape for the party from Electric Plume. I had a beautiful copper and pearl, handcrafted crown from the insanely talented Janie at The Lucky Sixpence. My shoes were very simple squared toed mules from andotherstories. I finished the look with assorted silver bangles I’ve had for years and drop earrings from The Vamoose.
Jon – royal blue suit from Ted Baker. He wore a plain white shirt from Paul Smith and opted for pink socks from The London Sock Company. He chose this supplier because they give a pair of socks to a homeless person for every purchase. He chose a pink hammerhead shark print tie from Reef Knots in honour of our 3 year old son who loves hammerhead sharks.

Our incredible photographer was Sophie from Wyldbee. She was such a joy to work with and spend the day alongside. She made the whole thing fun with zero stress and I think the amazing photos she captured are testament to that!
All flowers were by our lovely friend and florist, Hana Moss who hired a van and carted them across the country from London.
The cake was by Victoria Onions – we had three tiers and we basically gave her free reign with the decoration!
There was no strict theme – we tied multi-coloured ribbons to the chairs, I folded 100 origami cranes in the days before the wedding to put at the place settings as a nod to our Japan trip and engagement.

We are having a week in Italy in the New Year with a trip to L’Osteria Francescana – a 3 Michelin starred restaurant we have both wanted to visit for several years.
Seeing each other for the first time as I came down the aisle, our friends running around with smoke grenades, crazy golf on the lawn before the ceremony, golden hour photographs at the lake, our first dance and Jon continuing his wedding tradition of getting all the men to remove their shirts and put their jackets back on.
It’s easier said than done but just relax and trust that you’re making the right decisions. Delegate where you can – this is something I wish I had done more of. Remember that what seems like a big deal will melt away the moment you walk down the aisle – all the stress dissolves and you will have the most amazing day!

Wow wee, so beautiful!
Em and Jon I can’t thank you enough for sharing your beautiful Plas Dinam Country House wedding story with us.
