Photographing weddings is a massive privilege for me, people seem happy to have me around and I love the chaos of the getting ready as much as capturing the rare moments of quiet reflection that happen in the day. I guess its people I love photographing the most- capturing a true moment, an expression, an instant that will pass and perhaps fade unless its caught. My true quest is to document the heart and soul of your wedding day. I’m an emotional kind of guy i guess- (Don’t worry, i’m not going to break down at your wedding) and this comes across in my pictures.

Just outside Bristol is the city’s little-known gem: Backwell House, a thrillingly luxurious nineteenth century country house complete with nooks, crannies and curiosities galore. With its stylish and quirky interiors and beautiful surroundings, Backwell House is the destination-du-jour for unique weddings, events and countryside getaways.

A Georgian mansion surrounded by rolling Somerset hills, Backwell House is a truly idyllic location for a wedding. The 9-bedroom house sleeps 18 and has an indoor room for ceremonies of up to 60 people, although there are many other options: tie the knot in the Victorian glasshouse, or get married under canvas in our giant conjoined tipis, with room for up to 120 guests. Thanks to our excellent in-house caterers, partner suppliers and wedding planner, you can leave the logistics to us and focus on the fun bits. The house also has a swimming pool, ornamental walled gardens, hot tub and treatments, so it’s a lovely place to stay for a few days before or after your wedding day.

A contemporary barn wedding venue set in a haven of idyllic countryside, Mythe Barn offers an exceptional combination of traditional elegance with modern sophistication. Located on the borders of Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire, the barns were converted in 2012, and each space is dedicated entirely to exclusive-use weddings.

Ceremonies can take place both inside and out, under the garden gazebo on a summer’s day, or in the spectacular Oak Barn. With an oak frame reaching up two storeys high, and full-height windows, this light-filled room can seat up to 150 guests for your civil ceremony. A perfectly positioned minstrels’ gallery is just the place for musicians, and for your photographer to capture some magical moments.

Welcome drinks and canapés can be served in the connecting Cart Barn or outside in the beautiful Courtyard, with delicious treats and exemplary service from in-house caterers Galloping Gourmet. The contemporary Grain Store was designed with the wedding breakfast in mind. Floor-to-ceiling windows open onto the garden and views beyond, making this a wonderful setting for both summer and winter celebrations. Elegant décor includes stylish chandeliers and ceiling drapes, offering every couple a neutral colour palette upon which to impart their chosen style. As the sun goes down, this versatile space becomes your party venue with ample space for a band or DJ to entertain you and your guests.
