Opulent Pink & Gold Victorian Wedding in Seattle

They found the characters for Ryan’s family name, Kosai, and got a wax seal stamp made.  This was used on the invitations, on the escort cards, and even as a chocolate wax seal on some of the pastries and petite fours on the dessert table.

Included in the invitation was a card with a drawing of a Victorian era scene for guests to colour, and bring to the wedding with a note to the couple.  We also had extra copies at the wedding, and guests did colour them at the cocktail hour, and brought theirs back to put into the large globe (from the couple’s home) as the “guestbook”.

The couple LOVES music – they take swing dance lessons together.  To honour this, they had their friend lead swing dance lessons for the guests.  The dance floor was PACKED and people had such a great time! Jess and Ryan also had an adorable choreographed first dance, followed by a cute dancing number by Jess and her father. THEN later in the evening, Ryan surprised the guests by joining the band with his clarinet for a couple songs, while their friend sang “La Vie en Rose”.

The ring pup! Pompie stole the show, and was the cutest little ring pup ever with his own little suit.

Jess was just STUNNING.  I’ve always loved a bride that has amazing style. Her pink hair, that DRESS and those Louboutin heels were just perfection.  And her second dress and hat were perfect for a fun evening of dancing.  She wasn’t the only one with an outfit change, Ryan put on a nice velvet jacket for the reception and a bowtie. Have I mentioned her fabulous rose gold ring?! YES!

Mixed throughout the décor (and even her bouquet) were strands of pearls and gold and rose gold accents.  Using books (they LOVE to read), tea cups, and other fun vintage items.  Each table was different.  There were even fun character busts around on the tables.

Behind the dessert table was a beautiful Victorian painting, which Jess had commissioned from Etsy. It was of herself and her pup, and everyone LOVED it!

Flanking the aisle were some trees, adorned with crepe paper flowers that the bride and her maids made themselves. Along the back of the aisle were large balloons (from Up and Up Balloons), with a garland of greenery and some flowers with pearls.

Jess and Ryan made sure to let the guests know the requested attire, AND the guests did not disappoint.  There were so many fun hats, top hats, long cloaks, etc.  It was like we stepped back in time for this wedding.   Prior to the ceremony, the Officiant asked everyone to remove their hats for the ceremony.  After their first kiss, they put hats on each other before heading down the aisle (with guests tossing rose petals) as husband and wife.

On the white dance floor was a lovely decal, continuing the theme of the hot air balloon and colours.

Each table had a custom menu in rose gold, pink and gold designed by Perfect Press.

Jess had her calligraphy/hand lettering skilled friend do all of the signs, on the mirrors from Vintage Ambiance.

That dessert table! Not only did it have a very large, impressive and delicious cake made by the Fairmont pastry chef, there were also fruit tarts, éclairs, petite fours, etc. from Hoffman’s Bakery, as well as French Macarons from Lady Yum. On that lovely cake was a cake topper designed and made by Ryan, by 3D printing.

Jess knew she wanted some “hedges” as the photo booth backdrop, so she made that and some large paper flowers by herself!
