Tell couples about your experience and approach
I am an observer of people and I believe that people are at their best when they don't know that they are being photographed. My favourite comment after I photograph a wedding is that they did not realise I was taking photos at the time. I get it very often. I am very good at remaining unnoticed. I am not the type of photographer that will pose you and your guests for hours - it is your wedding day to enjoy and my job to record the story of it. And the story of each wedding day is so personal so I don't make compromises with staging the situation - just the wedding day as it happens with the entire range of emotions and events.
Are you super chatty or will be you be a fly on the wall?
A little bit of both and having the right balance to it.
What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?
Be yourself. Forget the camera (and you will, I promise) and enjoy the day. And relax - things are rarely perfect; there is always something that will not turn as expected - but this is the thing that will make you laugh 20 years from now.
What are your artistic influences?
Photo journalism. Black and white, High contrast, documentary photography. But don't worry - I do photograph in colour and you will have a wonderful collection of wedding photos and wedding portraits that are both artistic and true
What was your favourite wedding shoot, and why?
Oh, there are so many moments that become my favourite wedding shot - the kids, the parents, the look of the groom or the emotions of the bride: How can I choose one? However, there is one I captured many years ago and I still refer to it occasionally - it is a shot of 4 people leaving the church (very candid photographs, no one is looking at the camera); the trick is - there are 4 people from 4 different generations. When you realise how many people will look at the wedding photographs for how many years - well, it's a bit overwhelming, isn't it....
What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?
The little moments that usually remain unnoticed... But also everything important and all (yes, all!) the relatives!
Why should couples choose you as a photographer?
Because I don't do the series of standard shots; I photograph the people with all their characters and little whims; I photograph the events that you will laugh when remembering and seeing in 20-30 years time; I photograph the day as it develops and I remain true to the personalities of the people
Have you won awards or been published in magazines?
Only arty ones.... :)
What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?
Good mood, good humour and laughter
Which venues have you shot at?
Cambridge Colleges - so many of them. Trinity, St John, Wolfson (beautiful garden!), Girton, Queen's (I love Queen's!), Claire and Murray Edwards and some more... But also Victoria & Albert Museum in London (Yes!) and a tent in a private garden...

Couple of village pubs and some estates - Barrington Hall, Down Hall and I am sure even more... The Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket (that's a big one!) and the Bedford Lodge Hotel... What used to be Hilton and is now the Graduate in Cambridge; and the posh hotel at the Cambridge Station (Tambourine / Clayton); also - how can I forget! - the Rosewood! Oh - Downing College and Hotel du Vin
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
We have to create a connection and we have to like each other. Ideally I want to spend couple of hours with you prior to the wedding - this way you will know what to expect and I will know things about you - they way you sit, stand, move and the way you (as a couple) talk to each other without words. These couple of hours greatly improve the final result. I usually do an "engagement" shoot before the wedding so we get to know each other.
What is your bucket list for amazing venues you’d love to shoot at?
Ocean beach, top of a mountain, desert dunes... I love alternative destinations and venues
