I don’t know about you but I’m really starting to feel a nip in the air and getting very excited about the time of year and everything that it brings. Time to wrap up warm, snuggle up with a hot drink and think about autumn weddings. I personally love a wedding at this time of year, there’s so much inspiration around for décor and the colder weather makes for such a cosy celebration.
If you’re planning an autumn wedding, time to settle down under a blanket and get inspired!
The turning leaves of this time of year create an instant atmospheric colour palette, think deep yellows, oranges, reds, browns and burgundies, which can inspire every part of your wedding from your bouquet to bridesmaids dresses and the reception décor.

For me, autumnal weddings are also about the atmosphere. Take advantage of the lower lighting that the changing season brings and create a cosy environment with heaps of candles, fairy lights and natural décor like fruit, pine cones and stacked wooden boxes. Pull your loved ones in close for an intimate banquet with heaving feasting tables.

Of course, it’s not autumn without autumn leaves. However you incorporate them into your day, they’re such versatile décor; place names, garlands, you could even use them as confetti.

You can’t think of autumn without thinking of Halloween. You don’t need to go overboard with skeletons and cobwebs to create a Halloween atmosphere. Pumpkins are key here, painted or even glittered and perhaps a subtle broomstick here and there!

Another brilliant thing about the seasons changing is the amazing food you can serve at your wedding. Invite your guests to toast marshmallows on an open fire, set up a hot chocolate bar or serve an autumnal pumpkin spice cocktail or hot cider. How about basing your menu on sumptuous warming staples like pie, meats and cheeses?
