Welcome to the dreamy, enchanting and magical Borgo di Castelvecchio wedding of Yeehooi and Johnny. They plumped for an outdoor Tuscany destination wedding in Italy, and their day really was what dreams are made of.

They had a soft and romantic pink colour palette, with an outdoor ceremony flanked by pretty blooms, followed by an exquisite al fresco reception. Their celebrations looked so beautiful, think long tables, enhanced by flowers, candlelight and opulent chandeliers. I can only imagine how special it must have felt to dine beneath them.

Borgo di Castelvecchio Wedding

The Proposal

They come from opposite sides of the world and met in New York city where they both live now. In 2019 on Yeehooi’s birthday, Johnny proposed on a sunny summer day on Governor’s Island.

This place meant a lot for both of them: their early dates, the first caresses and stolen kisses. He knew it would cause strong emotions and memories for both of them. The sunset as a backdrop with the Manhattan skyline lighting up, while she is enchanted by the beauty and the memories that this place evokes in her, he kneels down. Embarrassed but more confident than ever, he looked into her eyes and swore his eternal love.

The Vision

Having guests from all around the world, a destination wedding was the ideal solution to celebrate their union. As they fell in love with each other they fell in love with Tuscany, without even having seen it before. Just looking at photos and videos they knew it was the right location, everything matched. It was love at first sight, just like between them: it was Tuscan charm and the Borgo di Castelvecchio was the perfect frame for their vision.

A 2-day event for an immersive experience for their dearest. The first day they welcomed everyone with an informal dinner set in the main courtyard of the hamlet. Pizza and gelato delighted all the guests, the most perfect combination for a great Italian start! The second day was the BIG day.

The Venue

Borgo di Castelvecchio – Tuscany – Italy

Surrounded by the Val D’Orcia hills and situated at the top of one of them. When at the Borgo it’s like being in another era, stuck in time. The hamlet is completely made of stones, immersed in the purest nature of the Tuscan countryside, the one you see in postcards.

Of all the venue options they had from their planner Olivia Sodi, there was no doubt in their minds: that was the place. The venue that checked all the boxes, a tiny private village where they could accommodate all their 60 guests coming from all over the world and be the perfect scenery for their intimate and chic destination wedding in Tuscny.

The Ceremony & Music

The wedding day started with a romantic ceremony, which took place in the garden overlooking the Val d’Orcia. An old silo as the altar, framed by a broken arch of pink flowers. It was all magical.

Yeehooi arrived at the ceremony in a golf cart, while Johnny waited impatiently for her arrival after walking the aisle with his mother. The ceremony was officiated by a friend of the couple, it was very intimate and fun, as Y&J are.

Punti di Bianco (photographers) & Daniele Cribari (videographer) seamlessly blended into the background, capturing candid moments and genuine emotions without being obtrusive. The photographs and the video beautifully showcased the stunning landscapes of Tuscany, adding an extra layer of beauty to the memories.

The Styling & Decor

Their imperial long table was pure romance, lit with chandeliers, decorated with Toile de Jouy plates, and enriched with lots of detail.

A very well-curated wedding design displaying a romantic palette, inspired by the colours of the Tuscan wine, flowers combined with seasonal fruit decorations, and an elegant mise en place adorned with place cards and menus. Everything was tailor-made according to J&Y’s vision.

Dinner ended in happiness and joy with a Millefoglie show-cooking and lots of toasts. (The Millefoglie is the typical Italian wedding cake).
