Welcome to WWW readers Judith and Garth’s magical, intimate and very special jetty wedding for two. They were married on the 8th July 2020 at Loughgall Park followed by a beach picnic and portraits at the beautiful Ballintoy Harbour in Northern Ireland.
I love the serene, atmospheric and peaceful jetty location they decided to hold their ceremony at, it looked so idyllic. Then there were the super stylish outfits (hello Jimmy Choos), yellow roses and the complete romance of getting wed, just the two of them. Such an amazing and intimate day.
Thanks ever so much to Vickey Donaldson Photography for sharing these wonderful images of Judith and Garth’s micro wedding.

On 18th November 2018 in a beautiful, rural setting where we walk regularly, a surprise proposal.
Due to covid our plans for a big white wedding in a castle had been dashed. We decided rather than wait we would make it completely personal and it was really important that our pics be taken at our favourite place as a couple where we visit regularly at Ballintoy Harbour, we were totally blessed with the weather that day, we chose to get married on 8th July as it was my (brides) birthday as well that date.
Unfortunately, we were unable to get married at Ballintoy Harbour as the paperwork/legal stuff wouldn’t be sorted in time so we had to think of other locations and we decided to go for one closer to home.
We decided on Loughgall Park, only a 10-minute drive from our home and with our wedding taking place on a Wednesday morning no one saw us and we had the entire park to ourselves.
We sourced the park only a couple of weeks before the wedding service and had a walk around and seen a nice quiet jetty overlooking the whole lake, this jetty subsequently was number 8, which was the date of the wedding and also my birthday (bride) so it felt like a sign! Thankfully the staff were very accommodating and held it for us, otherwise, we might have had to share it with a fisher.
Garth and I made sure not to see each other the morning of the wedding while we got ready so the first time he saw me was when I walked across the jetty to marry him.

Garth’s suit was casual chinos and jacket, something he can wear again, and I decided to save my bridal gown for all our friends and family to see at our wedding blessing/party which will take place later this year when covid blows over, so I purchased a two-piece outfit instead which I loved and it was so easy to wear. I however did treat myself to a pair of Jimmy Choo heels and that was my wedding/birthday gift.
The ceremony was romantic and peaceful, there was not a noise on the lake, following the service we were greeted by a Robin looking over us and a duck and her ducklings swam over. The service was low key and I chose simple yellow roses hand-tied for my bouquet as they are my favourite flower and favourite colour. Garth plays the guitar and therefore we decided to bring it along and he played me some music at Ballintoy Harbour after the photos were finished.
Our picnic included a homemade sponge cake as our wedding cake which we enjoyed on our arrival at Ballintoy Harbour on the beach along with a bottle of sparkly.

Vickey Donaldson Photography captured our day perfectly.
All done ourselves.

To be arranged when its safe to travel.
Walking up the jetty to Garth and feeling like I was in a dream, the drive to Ballintoy Harbour together in our own car with the music up full and windows down as a newly married couple, enjoying a picnic on the beach at Ballintoy when we arrived. I still can’t believe how few people were there, its normally so busy at the harbour, it was as if everyone knew we were getting married that day and gave us the privacy we wanted
Focus on the happiness of the day and the reasons why you are getting married. Garth wanted to marry me and I wanted to marry Garth and we didn’t let lockdown shatter our dreams of a perfect day.
