WWW readers Julie and Felix are joining us to share their happy and hot Lincolnshire garden wedding today. They tied the knot at Scrivelsby Walled Garden in a picturesque sunny garden ceremony, followed by a relaxed tipi reception… and it looked amazing!
There was lots of fun to be had, a tug-of-war game, live music, sun-drenched portraits and memorable speeches. There of course were sublime outfits, divine dried flowers and a gorgeously styled reception too.
Thanks ever so much to Kazooieloki Photography for sharing with us these sensational captures of Julie and Felix’s epic day. Enjoy!

We were supposed to be going to Nepal but lockdown meant that the Malvern Hills were the next best thing.
We went on a hike and Felix proposed up in the hills on a sunny and crisp December afternoon. Just the two of us and a bottle of Verve, it was perfect.

We wanted our wedding to be fun and relaxed and so from the start we knew we wanted it to be in a huge teepee. We loved the idea of people glamping/camping at the venue and it was really great having everyone there the night before too.

Scrivelsby Walled Garden is just stunning! We didn’t want to go over the top on decorations and flowers as we dedicated a good chunk of our budget on the band (who were epic and so worth it) and this venue made it possible.
The gardens are just incredibly beautiful and make the perfect backdrop without having to add anything (if you don’t want to).

Our ceremony was held the beautiful walled garden at Scrivelsby led by Deborah Page. We had our very talented friend Ella sing “Can you feel the love tonight” by Elton John as the aisle music, she sings it so beautifully and it was perfect for us.
Our first dance song was Shania Twain ‘You’re still the one’ – we just love this song! Our band were Jam Hot Showband, we saw them at another wedding and knew we wanted them at ours.

We went for a gold and burnt orange for the bridal party. Groom and groomsmen were in neutral suits.
My shoes were AMAZING and leopard print so we continued the theme and all bridesmaids had leopard print shoes too. The boys had leopard dickie bows, apart from my bridesmaid who had a cravat. It was subtle but just a bit of fun.
Wedding dress was from a gorgeous shop in Barnstaple, Devon called Evolved Bridal. The designer is Rush Bridal.

Kazooieloki and Bouncing Ball Films. These guys were all incredible, great company and an absolute joy to have there on the day doing their thing. The results were perfect!

Theme was neutrals with splashes of orange.
Flowers – Bridal and bridesmaids bouquets and buttonholes were all from Etsy. I went for dried as they lasted longer and it are still in perfect condition now, sat in a vase in the lounge.
Cake – My lovely, talented little sister did our cake, we had just one cake for the top tier and then had layers of Krispy Kreme doughnuts below.

There are SO many! For both of us, the aisle moment was lovely. Julie walking down the aisle with her dad was very emotional and a moment that will stay with us. Also, we went off together for a few minutes after the ceremony and it was really nice to have a short time together without anyone else before the celebrations began.
The speeches were incredible, we just had 3 traditional, father of the bride, groom and best man and they were all lovely and hilarious.
We had a tug-of-war rope and hadn’t actually planned to do a big game of it but it just kind of happened and that was a really great moment.
And then the first dance and straight into the band’s first set. The dance floor was going off and everyone was having such a fun time, so it doesn’t get much better than that.

We did a two-week trip to Mexico and stayed in a few spots on the Caribbean coast including The Rivera Maya, Tulum and Bacalar.

Our only advice would be to seriously do not sweat the small stuff, no one else knows if thing don’t go 100% to plan and in fact you won’t either. We forgot to cut the cake and we had a whole game planned which just didn’t happen because we were having too much fun.
So basically just forget about the detail and have FUN 😀

How absolutely beautiful.
Julie and Felix thank you both so much for sharing with us your wonderful Lincolnshire garden wedding story.
