This month we asked a range of professional wedding photographers to share their favourite wedding pictures and photos captured by themselves.
Kiss under moonlight, or maybe right next to it!
Photo by Fiona Walsh Photography – This was one of a kind shot. I’d been shooting an elopement and after sunset we turned around to see the moon on the horizon. Very exciting!
Sneaking
Photo by Happy Bride and Groom / Athanasios Papadopoulos – We had a portraits session with the bride just before the ceremony.
As it happened, the only available room was just next to the space that the wedding would take place and last details were being arranged. The groom had just arrived and I told to the bride to pretend looking out of the window.
It was natural that, although staged at the begin, the feeling of anticipation and sneaking would be authentic!
A quiet moment
Photo by Tiree Dawson Photography – Ksenia asked me if I’d take a photo of her reading a card from her soon husband-to-be Chris. I had no idea it would be a scene as beautiful and serene as this!
The Perfect Dance
Photo by Aaron Storry Photography – Chloe & Joe chose the epic Aynhoe Park for their wedding, it was a venue that perfectly matched the theme of the day – incredible! Their first dance was framed with the bespoke decor of orangery, complete with all manor quirks, include a giraffe overseeing the proceedings and the most amazing smoke carpet. It was the best way to finale a wedding that left me wanting to do it all over again.
Forest dance
Photo by Jordi Tudela – Carlos and Lídia got married in Mas de Can Riera (Barcelona). If there was a picture that they wanted, it was in this place at night and that’s how it was, a romantic intimate dance that I could immortalize with the camera.
Love in the air
Photo by Jordi Tudela – This photo is almost a problem for me. all couples tell me about her just seeing me. It was taken at the Mas de Can Ramoneda, in Rubí (Barcelona). Silvia and Carlos wanted a picture with some balloons (the tables were decorated with them), so I came up with a small photo with a little metaphor, or a little narrative.
Veil
Photo by Samantha Pennini – Veil magic!
Sky
Photo by Brian Robinson Photography – Taken on Towan Beach on the Roseland in Cornwall. Nicola & Pete had chosen the location for where they wanted their shots to be taken and wanted to incorporate the land, sea & sky into the pictures. This was just one from the session and maybe my favourite. I achieved what I wanted with the image in that they were very minimal in the picture yet still having an impact.
Walled Garden Silhouette
Photo by Matt Selby photography – Probably my favorite wedding photograph to date. I love the Tim Burton feel which really suited the couple’s style. I’ve seen many images taken in this scene so it was my mission to create something unique. a touch of smoke added some atmosphere and a single rim light was all it needed to create some magic.
Pure love
Photo by Ben Kelmer – Sascha and Shay are a Canadian couple that came to get married in Israel, their wedding was in the north of israel, we did another shoot in Tel Aviv.
Pug Wife
Photo by Sam & Louise – As devoted pug parents ourselves we always ensure that our dogs are well looked after when we’re photographing weddings. So when our dog walker announced that she’s getting married, of course we had to return the favour and photograph her wedding. Rightly so her own babies had to steal the limelight a little and here they are as bride and groom for the day. This is one of our favourite photos because, well, pugs!
Black Tie & Kissing
Photo by Tony Hart Photo – I love the romance of this image, the light, the anticipation, the half hidden faces, the anticipation in the front row. It all feels rather french!
Bride & Groom look back as their guests arrive.
Photo by Paul Gapper Photography – As Dauphine & Alfred ( bride & groom) drove into the drive of the wedding venue I got into the front seat of their classic Rolls Royce to take some candid shots of them but as I did the London double decker bus with the guests on also arrived and followed us to the hotel.
Love London
Photo by Andy Sidders Photography – This was taken after Maryam and Adam’s ceremony at Islington Town Hall on the walk to their evening reception at Islington Metal Works. On the walk we stopped off at a few locations for some portraits. This was my favourite taken at the front of Islington Fire Station. I directed the couple into position and then we just waited for a bus to pass!
You and Me … alone
Photo by Medhanie Zeleke Shiferaw – This pictures was taken some time ago in Los Angeles. Just after the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom decided to go to a nearby park and have a moment with their bridal party. It was not an easy task to have the bride and groom alone, but I was lucky enough to have them for a few moment and capture intimate shots with them.
Ray 0f Love
Photo by Ebourne Images – This favourite wedding photo was taken at Emma & James’ wedding in Greece. I need to give credit to James who patiently and effortlessly lifted Emma while I tried to position the Sun in-between them. The perfect kiss!
Beautiful Sunrise in Mexico
Photo by Doville Gail Photography – This photo has been taken on destination wedding in Mexico. I admire couples who are up early to chase beautiful light. This images has been taken at 6am in the morning at Caribbean sea.
That Just Married Feeling
Photo by Benjamin Stuart Photography – Nothing beats that just married feeling. I got married seven years ago to my wife beautiful wife Zoe & I still remember that feeling of walking out the church and wanting to scream with excitement. This photo is of an amazing couple called Rob & Fran and thats exactly what he did. They walked out of the stunning Marylebone town hall in London and Rob let about a shout of joy. I think most married people can relate to this feeling. Also they look so flipping cool!
The special kiss
Photo by Nabis Photographer/ Chiara Ridolfi – The groom and his 2 angels!
I was wit the couple doing some photos when the groom was reached by two beautiful flower girls! They hugged and kissed him so much and I was so happy to shot that moment.
What are they hiding?
Photo by Pedro Filipe Fotografia – This photo was made during a beautiful wedding at the south of Portugal, in Alentejo.
What are they hiding with the hat?
Smoking
Photo by Damion Mower Photography – Taken with Ben and his groomsman at Ashdown Park Hotel enjoying a cigar to celebrate the end of bachelor life.
Bubbles
Photo by The Gibsons – I just love the carefree and fun feeling I get with this wedding photo! We love capturing moments like these which stand out above the rest just a bit more.
Singing their way to the reception…
Photo by Hana Laurie Alternative Wedding Photographer – Alice and Sam had a tiny ceremony in my local registry office (a Victorian School House), and asked the majority of their guests to meet them up at Gilbert White’s House + Barn for the reception. They parked in the bottom carpark from the ceremony and processed through the meadow, singing songs and bringing their own brand of JOY up to their waiting guests. Lush.
He is already mine
Photo by Stella Kurek Photography – The bride just did pass across when i was taking a group photos.
Spirals
Photo by Amanda Forman Photography – This is one of my all time favourite wedding portraits. It was taken at the NED Hotel in London on it’s first ever wedding. We only had a matter of minutes to get this shot and needed to work quickly to get the lighting just right.
Love above the mountains
Photo by Magia Obrazu – Anna & Genadij dreamed about wedding in the heart of polish Tatra mountains – Zakopane. And their dream comed true! During our session we reached almost 2000 metres above the sea level – and beautiful sunset made perfect scenery for their love!
On top of the world / Matterhorn, Switzerland
Photo by Ap-Art Photography / Pete – View beautiful enough to experience hyperkulturemia, the mighty Matterhorn with its iconic shape, an adventurous couple and an amazing adventure, this shot is one of my all time favourites.
Love is in Rome
Photo by Luca Caparrelli Photography – A nice photoshoot with lovable Indian Guys in the beautiful city of Rome.
Sunset at the lake
Photo by Martine Sansoucy – This beautiful couple was married in our stunning Provincial Park Waskesiu Lake and what makes this wedding memorable to me is not only the gorgeous couple and settings, but that fact that I shot this entire wedding on a freshly sprained ankle haha! Just before the evening was finished for me, I pulled the couple aside and set up some candles near the lake and had them sit for awhile to reflect on their day as I took some photos. I loved this shot the second I took it and I’m so happy with how it turned out!
Country house
Photo by Eneka Stewart Photography – Ramster Hall is one awesome venue, it oozes character! I used a small crystal for some extra colour and reflections whilst taking portraits. It was a tight timetable but it was great to get a shot in that room too.
Mum
Photo by Alexis Jaworski – This photo was taken in Oxfordshire in England. The wedding took place in the same church where the groom’s mum and father had married 30 years or so ago. Mum sadly passed away the year prior to the wedding. They chose to have the wedding at the church to be near mum. After the ceremony they bride and groom went to put some flowers and I followed discretely and captured this totally candid moment. This is perhaps my favourite image and one of the most meaningful one’s I have taken.
In The Woods
Photo by Mr – This couple live in Livorno. There is an old disused viaduct deep in the nearby woods with miles of stone steps and regular pump houses, all overgrown with vines and leaves. It’s a beautiful place in its own right. I took many, many images of the couple here and this is one of my favourite ones. I am a big fan of J W Waterhouse and this image has something of that pre-raphaelite quality which I like in his work. It was an extraordinary opportunity for me and I thank this lovely couple for it.
The Alverton Balcony shot
Photo by Paul Keppel Photography – Toni and Gareth love the balcony shots I create and asked if I could colour the lights in their wedding colour theme.
