Ceremonies have always captivated me - their power to bring people together and honour life’s most meaningful moments is truly special. Over time, I’ve come to deeply appreciate how these occasions can shape lives, spark joy, laughter, happy tears and foster genuine connection. As an Independent Celebrant, I have the privilege of creating and leading ceremonies that do more than mark milestones; they become treasured memories. It’s a role I’m proud to hold and one that brings me genuine joy. When you book me, we’ll begin with a relaxed planning session so I can get to know you and create a ceremony that truly reflects who you are as a couple. Whether you’d like traditional elements like vows and rings or something completely unique, I’ll tailor every detail to suit your style and story. You’ll receive ongoing support, ceremony drafts, a final run-through, a keepsake script, and certificate, and even a bespoke poem if you'd like. I’m fully insured and hold the highest qualification in celebrancy, accredited by National Open College Network and I'm a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants - so relax you're in safe hands.

Tell couples about your experience and approach
I love tradition but I’m also fond of the unusual. Most importantly, I believe your ceremony should be exactly how you want it. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Naming and Couples Celebrancy, accredited by the National Open College Network (NOCN). I am also a member of the Association of Independent Celebrants (AOIC) and I uphold their high standards.
What do you love most about being a celebrant?
Ceremonies have the unique ability to unite people and honour life’s meaningful moments in truly powerful ways. I’ve come to deeply appreciate how these occasions can shape lives, stirring joy, emotion, and connection. As a celebrant, I have the privilege of creating and leading ceremonies that do more than mark milestones - they become treasured memories. It’s a role I hold with great pride, and one that brings me genuine joy.
Do you specialise in any particular types of ceremonies (religious, spiritual, humanist, themed, etc.)?
As an Independent Celebrant, I offer personalised, non-legal wedding ceremonies - perfect if you’ve already taken care of the legal side. To clarify: in England, a celebrant-led ceremony does not include the legal registration of marriage. That part must be completed separately with a registrar at a registration office. Once that’s done, you are free to focus entirely on celebrating your love and hold your wedding celebration ceremony in any way you like. It will be meaningful and personal.  I’ll work closely with you to ensure it reflects your love story, values, and your unique connection. There are no restrictions - you can include anything from traditional vows and ring exchange to symbolic rituals like handfasting and sand ceremonies or even a themed ceremony.  Whatever you choose, it will be heartfelt, inclusive and unmistakably yours.
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
Know that your ceremony will be completely personal to you. I will get to know you, craft the ceremony from your story, and take into consideration your values and your dreams. I don’t use templates or generic scripts; instead, I work closely with you to create something that will ultimately mean a great deal to you both. Every word, every moment, and every detail will reflect who you are as a couple.
Which venues have you worked at?
I’ve had the pleasure of working in a wide variety of venues, from castles and grand hotels such as Grand Villa Heights in Ravenscar, Lartington Hall in Barnard Castle, Hackness Grange in Scarborough and Oaklands in Driffield, to creative DIY spaces like White Sykes Fields near York and rustic farm locations like Fen Farm in Lincoln. I’ve also conducted ceremonies in charming village halls like Tealby, in cosy pubs, on pretty beaches, in peaceful woodlands, and, of course, in the warmth of intimate home and garden settings.

The ceremony conducted has no legal implications for any parties involved. The legal formalities of marriage or civil partnership are not included in the ceremony.
