Tell couples about your experience and approach
Having a Post Graduate Diploma in photojournalism, and studied under some of the most prolific documentary photographers, it's this style I now incorporate into my wedding photography.
In the late 90s, I decided to plough headlong into wedding photography having previously worked for national and local news agencies and newspapers. Today, I work in the most natural, unobtrusive way to achieve the best storytelling images.
In a career that spans nearly thirty years and close to 1000 weddings, I'm still passionate about my work and creating images my clients will continue to enjoy for years to come.
Remember, your wedding day is about you, your family and friends, many you won't have seen for years. The day goes by so quickly. Enjoy the day whilst I capture it all without interference or taking you off for an endless photoshoot.
What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?
Keep group shots to a minimum. I recommend no more than 15 otherwise it simply becomes a photoshoot.
Are you super chatty or will be you be a fly on the wall?
A bit of both. I want to mingle with your guests to capture the real story of your day.
What are your artistic influences?
Documentary photographers.
What was your favourite wedding shoot, and why?
Each and every wedding is totally unique for many reasons. Due of my style and approach I love each and every one.
What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?
From the bridal preparation to the first dance there are so many unique moments. I photograph each wedding naturally as it unfolds. However, I do have real passion for those couple photo's with an editorial look.
Why should couples choose you as a photographer?
Many couples like myself have a dislike being photographed. If that's you, then my style is perfect. Nothing is staged or set up and I won't drag you off for an endless photoshoot.
What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?
Simply allow enough time for images of you both and your group photo's. I want to keep these as relaxed and as natural as possible without them looking to staged.
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
My style and that you appreciate storytelling photography and that is the look and feel you want when you receive your images
