Tell couples about your experience and approach
Wedding photography is not just my job, it’s my passion and I endeavour to give my very best to each and every couple who put their faith in me. I believe your wedding photographs should be more than a bunch of images. Creating great photographs for you is my aim. Working with the light using pleasing compositions and patiently waiting for the perfect moment frozen in time. I consider myself a creative documentary photographer, who also enjoys touching on some relaxed portraits. Often immersing myself at the core of the ‘action’ where I can find the most spontaneous, genuine and authentic of emotions. That being said I’m certainly not obtrusive and pride myself on ‘hiding in plain sight’, letting the day flow as if I wasn’t there. Capturing and telling your story all with a happy smile. I can’t help but have fun at a wedding myself – so I infuse this with the wonderful atmosphere around me and bring it into every photo I take. My mission is to create your story on your wedding day in an unobstructive way, so you can fully enjoy it.
Are you super chatty or will be you be a fly on the wall?
A bit both, depends on the situation. When I work with a couple, I talk to them a lot, give them direction, make them laugh etc, but when I photograph in documentary style, then I am quiet and focusing on what's happening around me.
What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?
Just be themself, that is the best. When I document a wedding day, I capture real emotions, real feelings.
What are your artistic influences?
I am influenced by some of the top wedding photographers in the world, like Victor Lax, Two Mann Studios, Susan Stripling and a few more. I am also inspired by street photography.
What was your favourite wedding shoot, and why?
Over 9 years a had so many amazing weddings. Hard to choose just one, but there was a wedding where the groom was English-jewish and the bride was from Korea. They had a traditional jewish ceremony and later a traditional Korean ceremony, then we went to the Piccadilly for a couple shoot. It was a fabulous wedding.
What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?
Funny, emotional, dramatic and interesting.
Why should couples choose you as a photographer?
I am a people oriented photographer, with 9 years of experience behind me. I can shoot a wedding in full documentary style or I can do editorial couple shoot all day long. I always listen to the couples needs and photograph the wedding the way they prefer in an artistic way.
What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?
To keep the couple happy and document their day in a way that they will cherish those photos for a lifetime.
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
For me communication is the key. The more they tell me about the day and what they need in terms of photos the better I can meet their expectation.
