It’s official folks, classic blue has been named as the Pantone colour of the year for 2020. I have to say that blue weddings have been few and far between the past few years, especially the darker navy hue which we see here today. It makes for a refreshing change and I am really looking forward to seeing what the creative wedding suppliers in the UK have in store for the classic blue tone in 2020.
I think the shade can really be brought up to date and into next year, with metallics, glitter, contrasting tones and greenery. Think of the shade as an undertone to other flattering hues and it will work a dream. Dark and moody tones, especially in wedding photography, have been so on trend, classic blue will really work in those schemes. Without further ado, here are some classic blue wedding ideas to give you some inspiration this fine Friday.

Add classic blue to your outfits, in a ribbon, with a flower, in your photo booth backdrop, by using smoke bombs, with a table runner, with antique furniture, using stationery, in your china, with accessories… the options really are endless. You can go all out with a colour scheme or simply add a subtle touch. Think midnight blue, celestial vibes, jewel tones and gold for the perfect wedding theme.
