I am so happy that Caroline is on board here at {www} firstly because she is seriously talented, with a reputaion in the wedding industry for her amazing photography. Secondly Caroline is an asolute darling and i consider her one of my friends in the industy, paired with her work this makes her one fabulous choice for your wedding photographer…

{w} Hi Caroline, could you firstly tell {www} readers a little bit about you?

Hellloooooo, my name is Caroline and I am the photographer behind CandySnaps Weddings. I LOVE photographing wedding-o-ramas and my puss cats Haggis and Neeps (oh and the occasional dog or hamster). I am originally from Germany but have made my home in Glasgow Scotland (it’s a tropical paradise and I’m having a blast) for the past 5 years. I got married last year to my soul mate and we have a daughter who is 7 going on 17 😉

I love playing my 45’s, picnics in the park, Berlin and New York, everything that is vintage and gorgeous, oh and shoes!!!!!!

{w} What do you love and dislike about your job?

What I LOVE most about my job is being part of my client’s special day and the look on their faces when they see their wedding photos for the first time and tell me how much they love them. I feel very lucky that I get hired by such a lovely bunch of people and I regard every single one of them as a friend.
The only thing I dislike about my job is getting enquiries from brilliant people that I know I would LOVE to work with but already being booked for that particular day. This makes my wee heart bleed and makes me wish I could split myself in half or buy a clone!

{w} How did you get into your business and into the wedding industry?

I first started off working as an assistant for Advertising Photographers in London but found working in a studio pretty boring, I enjoyed being out and about with my camera and capturing real moments. I then decided to study Editorial Photography in Brighton which was an incredible course and I met so many brilliant people through it. Whilst studying I photographed a friends wedding and really enjoyed it and they loved the photos. Now friends have friends who get married and so from there everything just snowballed, everything just seemed to fall into place so I decided to make this my full time job and I haven’t ever looked back. I love every single minute of it!

{w} What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

Every client is special to me. I treat them as if they were the only clients I have. I only take on a limited amount of weddings each year (no more than 30) so I can give every single one my full attention and my clients don’t need to wait months until they see their photos. I aim to deliver a bespoke service to them and provide them with timeless beautiful photography that captures the essence of their personality.

{w} What style is your work?

I would describe it as creative reportage wedding photography. I blend in unobtrusively, (I’m very good at that, someone called me ‘the pink panther’ once J) capturing the day as it unfolds.

{w} Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?

I offer one basic package that includes full day coverage, a pre wedding shoot, all editing and retouching, an online gallery with print ordering service and 3 DVD’s (one for the Bride and Groom and the other 2 for both sets of parents) with a minimum of 250 high res. print ready files. All this at a cost of £1500.

I also LOVE all Rock n’ Roll DIY couples on a budget and if their wedding sounds like as if it’s gonna rock off my socks than I’m happy to tailor a package to their budget. My clients can also add an album to my basic package after the wedding. I work with a Japanese bookbinder who makes beautiful wedding albums for me. These start at £250 and I also offer luxury Queensberry storybook albums.

{w} Do you have any tips for couples in selecting photographers?

I think it is of utmost importance that you get on with the person who will photograph your wedding. So trust your instincts I’d say. It’s like buying a house, you often know as soon as you set foot in the door that it is the one. Ask your friends who are already married if they have any recommendations for you. Visit wedding blogs like Whimsical Wonderland Weddings for amazingly talented photographers and don’t be shy to ask a photographer who is over your budget for a discount if you LOVE their work.

{w} How can we get in touch with you?

Best way is to email me caroline@candysnaps.co.uk or give me a bell on 07833331183. I would LOVE to hear all about your wedding plans. I am happy to travel all over the UK and beyond to photograph your special day!
A big thank you to Caroline, it was great learning more about you and your gorgeous work!! Be sure to check out Carolines fantastic website and blog here or by clicking on her fabulous ad on the right 🙂
