When it comes to all things wedding, deciding on wedding flowers has to be one of the loveliest of elements of planning.
But I know what you are thinking, when it comes to choosing your UK spring wedding flowers, there are a lot of flower options. So just how do you begin deciding on your seasonal blooms?
In this article, I am going to share with you beautiful Spring wedding bouquets to inspire, before breaking down different Spring flower varieties.
That way by the end of this feature, you’ll know which flowers you love. As well as some flower colour ideas and inspiration. Hooray!

Great news that you are marrying in Spring as the flower choice in the UK is so pretty! However, just how do you choose your wedding flowers if you are marrying in the UK spring months of March, April or May? Allow me to share some of the seasonal flowers available in the UK, from early Spring, right through to late Spring to help pick your dream wedding florals.
It’s important to note that flower blooming time changes. Every year availability and timing of wedding flowers can alter due to the weather. Be sure to keep in mind that you may need to be flexible and work in cohesion with your wedding florist to ensure your perfect wedding blooms become reality.
One other tip is to remember that some flower types have a vast range of varieties that vary wildly in colour, shape and size. There is just so much choice!

Now you have some great bridal bouquet ideas for the spring season, let’s take a closer look at the different flower varieties on offer as well as how pretty they look. Divine!
Bright, happy yellow daffodils are a welcome delight in the spring. Narcissi are smaller and delicate which are great for added texture. Shades include yellow, orange and even creams.

Tulips come in a surprising array of colours and shapes. From fluffy peony-style petals to slim closed heads, you may just be surprised at the number of different tulips to choose from.

Bleeding heart may not be the most romantic name for a Spring wedding flower. But, the pink heart shape florals are so beautiful and unusual!

Ranunculus are a Spring flower staple. Hues include jewel tones such as red, orange and pink but also peaches and whites.

Dainty delicate grape hyacinths bring a joyful pop of blue to springtime. These little gems are ideal for wedding buttonholes or adding additional colour for other arrangements.

Is there anything better than the arrival of spring blossom? Especially, my favourite, cherry blossom?

Hyacinths are large conal-shaped flowers that create real impact (seen in white below). These are a great replacement for hydrangeas if they aren’t quite in season for your spring wedding.

Tiny forget-me-nots appear like a blue carpet in the springtime and look amazing. These teensy little electric blue flowers will add pizzazz and the name is perfect for a wedding!

Magnolia is one of the first spring blossoms and these large flowers are spectacular. You could use them closed in arrangements, or wait for the majestic flowers to bloom.

Foxgloves may just be available for your day if you are having a May wedding. These tall stems with bell-shaped flowers evoke a fairy feel thanks to tales of their markings being fairy hand-prints.
Foxgloves are perfect for adding both height and colour.

Wisteria is a spectacular bloom you may recognise from house fronts in late spring.
These vivid purple draping flowers are only available for a short time, but wow do they look beautiful.

Lily of the valley is a small, delicate flower with a powerful fragrance. So if you are looking for added wedding scent, this stem may be worth checking out.

Cows Parsley or otherwise known as Queen Anne’s Lace is a widespread wildflower in the UK in spring.
Its soft billowing white flowers are a great alternative to gypsophila. You may be lucky enough to have some growing in your garden that you can forage for free!

Hellebore has a gorgeous droop that looks so romantic. Seen in the spring bouquet below in a plum tone, alongside narcissi, alstroemeria and snowdrops.

Iris is another popular spring bulb which is available in deep purple with a yellow stripe (as seen below). As well as tones of yellow, blue, pink, white and orange! Iris’ create fantastic architecture to spring flower arrangements.

Alliums are part of the onion family, but don’t let that put you off. In fact, they are one of my favourite spring bulbs to grow! So easy to plant as well as care for, they grow super tall and grow back year after year.
If you are looking for wow-factor large purple wedding flowers to grow yourself, these could be perfect.

Bluebells are magical things. Head into the woods in the spring and be floored by their electric hue. They really are enchanted flowers to add to your wedding bouquet.
Small, blue bell-shaped blooms that really pack a punch.

Anemones are such versatile flowers to include in spring floral arrangements. Their large open flowers with contrasting black centres come in a vast choice of colours.

Peonies are super popular at weddings and it’s easy to see why. These flowers come in closed fluffy styles or open blooms such as the Coral Charm Peony.
Peonies add gorgeous tone, large impact and all the pretty to spring weddings.

Tall stocks are another winner for adding height to spring blooms. Plus they are available in lots of colour ways.

Classic roses are available in spring depending on the variety you are looking for. Roses are a must-have in wedding flowers, but be sure to consider the cost as they can sometimes be pricey.

Clematis is a climbing plant and has so many varieties that cover almost all seasons. This means there are loads of shapes and colours to choose from.
Below you will find a purple variety with a bright yellow stigma in the centre. Gorgeous!
