Claire T's profile info

I used to be a Science teacher in Secondary and Adult education, so I am used to crowd control, and have also been involved in Amateur Dramatics, both in front and behind the curtain. I am now a fully qualified celebrant, with a Level 3 Diploma in Couples and Naming Ceremonies. Initially, I trained in Funeral Celebrancy, which is so rewarding. However, the Couples work I do fills me with joy and allows my creative juices to flow. I perform Wedding Celebration Ceremonies, Vow Renewals, Civil Partnership Celebrations, Commitment Ceremonies.

What do you love most about being a celebrant?
I am calm under pressure and up for anything you would like to include in your special day. I pride myself on ensuring even the smallest details are covered. I'm really easy-going, you will be able to chat to me when you like. I always ensure my couple are front, centre stage- I see my role as pulling everything together and making sure the focus is on you- and what you want.
Do you specialise in any particular types of ceremonies (religious, spiritual, humanist, themed, etc.)?
I love to do traditional, completely unscripted Handfasting ceremonies, where we include the four elements-Air, Earth, Fire and Water.

I also enjoy being part of a themed wedding, be it medieval or fifties glam and am happy to dress for the occasion!
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
I am very approachable, adaptable and non-judgmental. I like to treat every service I carry out as if it's my first, bringing a fresh individual approach to each occasion. I consider it a complete honour to be invited to officiate at a couple's ceremony.
