David Rickard, a club and festival DJ for 20 years and specialist events DJ for 10 years offers a stylish and bespoke service for those looking for something beyond the norm. Your big day isn’t just another gig for us; it’s an opportunity to create something unique so we take the time to carefully plan everything with you. As well as playing your choice of great music, our expertise goes way beyond; we know how to host the day and we know how to rock the evening. Whether it’s an elegant wedding ceremony or a high-energy party, we understand the ebb and flow of a celebration. Tell couples about your experience and approach
I’ve been a working DJ for over 20 years, playing at festivals, clubs, parties and now specialising in events and weddings. I love creating a warm uplifting atmosphere during the afternoon, and then a full on party during the evening. My playing style is well mixed and classy - I like the vibe to develop naturally with smooth transitions from tune to tune, genre to genre.
What are your artistic influences?
I’ve always loved a wide range of styles, and I bring that variety into every wedding I play. Growing up, I was inspired by the great rock and guitar bands, especially the Britpop era and the artists that followed. I’ve got a soft spot for funk and soul—anything with a brass or string section and a big, energetic sound is good with me. At university, I discovered the clubbing scene and I have been obsessed with dance music and all its many sub-genres ever since.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and I want to ensure that your entertainment exceeds your expectations! Together we will plan everything in detail to ensure you get exactly the day and the music that suits you. I don’t want to just be another professional working on the day, I want to be a friend who has helped plan and deliver the day you’ve both dreamt of.
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
Every wedding I do, I dedicate myself to 100%. I am a details person and I genuinely care about making the day go right. I’m more than happy to liaise with your venue and other suppliers in order to work as part of a cohesive team on the day.
