My Approach at Weddings

My aim is to blend in, not take over. I work in a calm, friendly, and unobtrusive way — capturing genuine moments as they unfold, without making your day feel like a photoshoot. Whether it’s emotional glances during the ceremony or laughter on the dance floor, I’m there quietly documenting it all.

Before the big day, I’ll take time to understand what matters most to you — so when the day arrives, you can relax knowing I’ve got it covered. I’m approachable and easygoing, making guests feel at ease and helping even the most camera-shy couples feel comfortable.

You won’t find me barking orders or staging awkward poses. Instead, I gently guide when needed, allowing natural, beautiful moments to shine through in your images.
What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?
The best photos come when you’re relaxed, present, and simply enjoying yourselves. Here are a few tips to help get the most from your photography:
	•	Trust your photographer – You’ve chosen me for a reason, so relax and enjoy the day knowing I’ve got the important moments covered.
	•	Build in breathing room – A little extra time in the schedule helps avoid rushing and gives us space for beautiful, unhurried shots.
	•	Keep details handy – If you’d like photos of things like rings, invites, or accessories, have them ready in the morning.
	•	Be yourselves – Forget about the camera, have fun, and interact naturally. Real laughter, emotion, and connection always photograph best.
	•	Plan for the best light – If possible, allow time in the evening (often called golden hour) for some stunning couple portraits.

And finally — don’t stress about perfection. It’s the real, messy, joyful moments that make your wedding story yours, and I’m there to capture it all.
Are you super chatty or will be you be a fly on the wall?
I’d say I’m somewhere perfectly in between. I know when to blend in and let moments unfold naturally — like during your ceremony or those quiet emotional glances — but I’m also happy to step in with a bit of friendly direction when needed, especially during group shots or couple portraits.

I won’t be overly chatty or in your face, but I will always be approachable, calm, and quietly confident in capturing your day without disrupting it. My goal is to help you feel relaxed and enjoy the moment, knowing it’s all being documented beautifully.
What are your artistic influences?
I’m influenced by real moments and natural emotion — the kind you don’t have to stage. I love photography that tells a story, so I aim to capture the day as it really unfolds, without interrupting or over-directing.

Good light, genuine connection, and the small in-between moments are what inspire me most — a quick glance, a shared laugh, a quiet moment before the ceremony. I also take a lot from everyday life — watching how people interact, how light falls in a room, or how a moment just feels right.

I keep things simple, honest, and relaxed — so your photos reflect you, not just a photoshoot.
What was your favourite wedding shoot, and why?
That’s a tough one — every wedding has its own special moments — but one that really stands out was a small countryside wedding in Shropshire. It was full of character: a relaxed couple, a quirky barn venue, and guests who were just genuinely there to celebrate, not perform.

What made it memorable wasn’t anything flashy — it was the atmosphere. Everyone was completely themselves. There was laughter, emotion, and a lot of muddy boots! The weather didn’t play along, but that made the photos even more real — windswept veils, wellies under dresses, and a couple who just embraced it all.

It reminded me that the best photos come when people are present in the moment, not worried about perfection.
What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?
I’m all about the real stuff — the unscripted, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of moments. The quiet nerves while getting ready, the proud look from a parent, the belly laughs during speeches, the tears during the vows, and those tiny, natural gestures between people who love each other.

Of course, I’ll capture the big moments too — walking down the aisle, the first kiss, the confetti shot — but what really brings a wedding gallery to life are the little things: the glance across the room, the squeeze of a hand, kids running wild, and the way you look at each other when no one’s watching.

Those are the moments that tell the real story of your day — and they’re the ones you’ll want to look back on for years to come.
Why should couples choose you as a photographer?
Because I genuinely care about your day — not just the photos. I’m there to capture the real story, not stage a version of it. My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive, so you can enjoy your wedding without feeling like you’re in front of a camera all day.

With years of experience, I know how to anticipate moments, work with natural light, and keep things calm when the schedule runs tight (as it often does!). I’ll help you feel at ease, guide you gently when needed, and most importantly — I’ll let you be yourselves.

You won’t just get a collection of beautiful images — you’ll get a true reflection of your day, your people, and everything that made it special.
What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?
The most important thing to me is capturing the feeling of the day — the emotion, the atmosphere, and the connection between people. It’s not just about ticking off a list of shots; it’s about telling the real story as it unfolds, honestly and naturally.

I want couples to look back on their photos and remember not just what it looked like, but what it felt like — the nerves, the laughter, the quiet moments, and the chaos too. That means staying present, observing, and being ready for those genuine, fleeting moments that can’t be staged.

At the end of the day, it’s about creating something real, something personal — something that lasts.
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
I’m chill, easygoing, and here to capture your day without any stress or fuss. No stiff poses or bossy directions—just natural moments and good vibes. If you want a photographer who feels like a friend, not a vendor, I’m your guy.
