Roger's profile info

I’m Roger Brown, an award-winning photographer, with over 15 years of experience shooting beautiful weddings. Each time I feel honoured to be entrusted to capture the unique moments that occur between family and friends on such a special day. I strive to preserve those moments in time and bring wonderful, treasured memories flooding back every time you pick up your wedding album. I hope you enjoy looking through a small sample of my work and I look forward to discussing your wedding plans if you choose to work with me.

Tell couples about your experience and approach
Your photographer is with you for most of the day so it's nice to know that you'll be around someone that you like. It's also really important for me so that I can truly understand what you are looking for from me as your photographer, and my style is all about getting images that bring back all the love, romance and happiness. It is always an honour to be part of someone's personal day, so thank you for considering me to be a part of yours.
What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?
I love to do a little practice shoot beforehand at the venue if time and geography allows. This way you know what to expect on the day. Its always good to look at my gallery also to look at how I shoot my couples. I'm not one to do posed shots all the time and like to get shots that get you walking and lost in a moment with each other.
Are you super chatty or will be you be a fly on the wall?
I like to make my couples feel really comfortable with a relaxed approach and guide them to create images that convey natural moments. Nothing contrived. Almost as I am not there and you are captured in a moment. I will not take you away from your guests for hours and with my extensive experience can get a range of lovely images in about 30 mins max, after the ceremony or even better in golden hour which I love. You can even get this is winter months if the weather is kind.
What are your artistic influences?
I am also a lecturer in photography and admire the work of classic photographers such as Henry Cartier Bresson, Philip Hausman, and Eisenstaedt. I have to stay up to date with contemporary photographers and love the work of David Lachapelle, Mario Testino to name but a few. These photographers directly influence my work.
What was your favourite wedding shoot, and why?
Every wedding is different. it's what keeps things fresh. It's more about the people rather than the location. If the energy of the wedding is good it really does make a difference.
What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?
I am always looking for those unrehearsed or unplanned moments. The first look as the Bride walks down the Aisle. The nervous tears in the ceremony, The laugh at a bad Dad joke etc.
All this combined with some perfectly structured couple portraits to really give a full picture of the day.
Why should couples choose you as a photographer?
I hope couples choose me because of my personality and experience as well as having lots of great reviews and an excellent portfolio.
What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?
The most important thing to me is client satisfaction. Happy clients are my best advert to attract other couples.
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
That I will 100% guarantee that they will have s et of images that they feel proud of and bring back all those memories.

Additional terms
Having worked for high end fashion magazines such as Grazia, Harpers and Cosmopolitan, I began photographing friends’ weddings for fun and found that I absolutely loved it!
Weddings have now become a large part of my commissioned work and I’m constantly busy shooting all over the UK as well as abroad. My emphasis is on minimal interruption, allowing you to mingle with your guests whilst I capture natural images – a smile, a laugh, a certain look. And of course, I include classic posed
